Feeder have one hell of a good album behind them at the moment. It's just they're unlucky not to be going in the same direction as the music industry seems to be at the moment. Not that I want them to, or many other bands I like.

I think the main problem is definitely the lack of new songs. I'm slowly getting used to downloading stuff now- I did so with the whole Subways album a few weeks back, which I've not done before. It's just that I have no reason to download versions of songs that are slight variations of what I own.

Maybe they can do something fan related? Like get us all to send in pictures we've drawn of the band, and then stick music over it, like the uber list of names for Shatter. At least it's a cool extra.

yeah and then where have all the old projects gone?

I mean they said they would put the winning video of the Miss you comp on a future DVD single
I know the campaign hasn't finished yet but it's heading in a bad direction I think

The band risks to implode if the things keep on going this way

Oh and should we expect the next album only on digital download?? Maybe as an i-tunes exclusive... :(

Well, having just read throught the last 21 pages, all I can say is.,
'ALL MY LIFE, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, TRACING LINES AND I CAN'T HEAR IT, I WISH THAT I COULD BUY THE REST' ;)
I don't have Itunes on my pc, and I feel really let down by the band, or whoever came up with the idea that everyone downloads their music
I would have bought the new CD with whatever other track(s) were on it, even if I already had it, just to support my favourite band, but I'm not going to download it,
It's not the sameas having the CD, Call me old fashioned but I like taking my music to friends houses in CD format rather than carry the hard drive around with me ;D
If as Pete said, SC has been added because that's the track the radio stations wanted, why isn't SC being played now, before the release date. and which radio stations are we talking about?

;D Anyway Sue is right, Silent cry hasn't even been played live as far as I am aware, and no news of a video being produced... still sounds like more like a one-song single and not a double a-side

Worst news i've had in a month... worst than my severe neck pains... At least give us 1 new B-side... Hell, i demand 2. And not Live recordings please, i've had enough of that with Green Day.
It's like echo have just given up on life.
This way Feeder aren't going to earn any new fans, and are just going to disappoint the ones they still have.

so, basic summary :

- we'd like at least 1 totally new track in addition to the current bundles
- we'd like a CD release, of some sort, preferably including said new track and video

?

I think I'd be happier with that ... if it wasn't possible to deliver this would it help to have an honest explanation why from Feeder HQ?

Meh, i'd prefer another new b-side than the video tbh, i'm sure if people really want the video they can download it somewhere. I think like most people here, we buy the CD's for the B-sides.

The two main issues here are 1) The download only thing- that can be solved with 1CD
2) No new B-sides- stick 2 new ones on the CD and i think all will be reprieved, no?

Still, probably won't sell fantastically but it'll make all the fans happy especially those who don't do downloads. It'll sell more than what it's like now.

I agree with you brigadier, my girlfriend told me she would buy the single, but when I told her it was download only she just went "then I cannot buy it" cause she doesn't have a way to pay for it. Then I'm sure they have hundreds of unreleased songs, hell they could put at least one on a CD along with TL and SC... I know putting one more song on a CD is cost but it would help selling more, for sure

Huh, I've like totally missed something here.

That's a bit rubbish, I doubt 100 different versions of two songs will prove attractive to *anyone*. I'll only buy it for to get my hands on STCYO (which I've heard and it isn't even that good) and to help with sales, at this rate someone has to. :-/

I guess whatever reaction there is to this will determine what we get as a third-single-package - if there even is one.

I agree with you there, but really... Listening to a CD is a prehistoric activity? I still maintain there's nothing better when it comes to music than coming home with a new CD, bunging it in your CD player and thumbing through the artwork whilst it plays for the first time (usually at a preposterous volume).

The other argument is the bitrate fiasco. Unless you rip everything to your computer in .wav/flac format, you won't have half the space you need on an iPod for your collection (Hell, I wouldn't, I've got 40GB of 60 taken up by music and that's all in MP3/AAC!). The quality of MP3 won't be as good as CD, and while you're at it, I suppose the quality of CD will never have that warm, true analogue feeling of vinyl...

I guess you missed the bit about checking whether the tracks will be on 7digital too. I suspect they will ...

Silent Cry was played, at least by Grant, at the Proud Galleries gig. I believe they are still working on getting it to sound write live, just like Who's The Enemy. What with the festivals etc I suspect they haven't had time to rehearse it much ?

Regards the video ... i *know* that the video is being produced. I also know from the concept that post production work is hefty and time consuming, so you'll just have to be patient.

That picture of Mark that was posted eariler was from the video shoot. I also pointed out that I suspect this news wasn't supposed to come out just yet as there hasn't been the usual e-mails etc. Why don't you wait for these come out before judging 100% re the video, you might be surprised. :P

You'll see, in time, that this is very much a double a-side project.

As for them having "hundreds of unused tracks" ... that's complete nonesense. I suspect they have quite a few ideas for tracks or unfinished tracks or demos, but certainly not hundreds and certainly not anything that is ready to be released without some extra work which they may well not have time to do given that it's festival season.

I'm probably more curious as to whether or not they'll be on tv... This release also isn't helped by the lack of tv/live coverage of Silent Cry (although I understand why this is the case).
