The problem is that I can't find that kind of cubes here! I remember I watched you when you were crumbling it, but there isn't something similar here... I'll go to Lido to see if I can find something in the supermarket which sells foreign stuff....

I'm sure most of you know this recipe but i'll post it anyway (any excuse to post pics of cake ) [you]Little cakes/Buns[/you](makes approximately 18 buns unless you're me who always seems to get more like 24) 6 oz soft marge 6 oz sr flour (or 5 flour & 1 cocoa if you want chocolate cakes) 6 oz caster sugar 2 eggs Dash milk Oven 190 – 12/-15 mins Cream marge & sugar, add eggs and sieved flour, mix adding dash of milk. Spoon mixture into cases. Place in oven. Check after 12 mins (if top springs back to touch/knife blade comes out clean then cooked, if not, give another 3 mins and check) [you]To ice[/you]: Mix sieved icing sugar with hot water until correct consistency. For choc do spoonful of cocoa with sugar, or food colouring of choice. [you]To decorate[/you]: find funky sweeties and stick on while icing

Animal/Hedgehog/Bee etc cakes are the same recipe (or sometimes i do 5/5/5 marge/sugar/flour). use a well greased pyrex bowl (preferably line bottom with greaseproof paper) and cook at a lower temperture for longer - check after 30 mins and then every 15 mins, takes around an hour/1hr 15 at about 150/160C butter icing - twice as much icing sugar to butter and cream together.

Ok, I've just come back from the supermarket and I've got everything I need for the Toad in the Hole... I hope I bought the right thing to substitute Oxo cube, though!

I made it! BUT: - Gravy was weird: I didn't find the right cubes and we use a thiker cornflour to make polenta out of it: but in general, it was ok. Not 100% yummy, but edible. - Batter: it wasn't hard and spongy, it ended up like a pudding in its inner part, I don't know why: maybe too many eggs? Maybe too many milk+water? Maybe should I add more flour? I also cooked it for extra 15 minutes... But it was good anyway! Maybe Italian sausages are just too fat for it: next time I should remove the extra oil before adding batter...

It might be that your eggs are slightly bigger than ours maybe?
Yorkshire pudding does tend to do it's own thing. Some people can do it, others can't no matter how hard they try. Also in Yorkshire we use plain flour, not self raising...don't ask me how it rises...it just does! My mum is brilliant at it.

Ok, next time I'll try again with 2 eggs and plain flour instead... My mom was rather intrigued by it...Probably they ate it all yesterday!

*sorry for the double post* Mmmmm....PANZANELLE!!! (How they are called in this area) They're very simple to make and so yummy! You just have to roll out the pizza dough, cut them in little squares/stripes/rhombs and fry them in oil. When they're ready, put salt on them and serve them hot with sandwich meats (prosciutto, coppa, salame...) or stracchino cheese. Notice Lorenzo hiding in the background
