awful. and because I stood up for myself. I guess that's a definitive sign that you're a non-confrontation sort of person.

if I were you, I'd refuse to do things that you're not allowed / supposed to do and only work the hours you're contracted to. They'll soon have to do something about it otherwise they'll fail all their targets. Don't be a mug here Jude ... a job is a job, getting stressed ''cos of other people's actions is not gonna do you any good (or them in the long run if you get so stressed you have to take time off). Sometimes you need to forget the loyalty to the role and think about yourself. I know exactly what you're feeling though. I'm always being told I need to be more rounded and do other roles in IBM. And yet, I know that if I were to leave, where I am now would fall apart as the teams been halved in size and I'm the only one left who know's how many things work. However, loyalty is not what senior management want, they want rounded employees who have a breadth of experience. It's a complete clash if you ask me. I want to do right by the company as well as my own career, but I also need to do what's best for me career wise. But those two ideals just can't live together it seems. Rob tells me to do exactly what you've said in that first paragraph; only work my contracted hours, dont do anything i shouldn't have to etc. Thing is tho Pete i can't just down tools and walk out when we've got a patient laying on an operation table in theatre can i? I'm the scrub nurse when we do theatre lists so its down to me to provide the consultant with all his equipment and drugs etc....its just not the kind of job where you can simply go when your day should be up, 'cos theatre lists hardly ever run to time.....neither do outpatient clinics come to that! I'll give her credit, this week my manager has realised i wont be able to cope on my own and has been trying to get some temporary help for me for when she leaves, she thought she had it in the bag..........but yesterday the higher management said no. So we're back to square one.

I'm cold as usual. Why this 'global' company can't get the heating right in this place completely baffles me but when it's almost just as cold outside as it is inside, isn't that health and safety??

feeling slightly nervous.......both nurses have now gone so from tomorrow i'm running the dept on my own. 3 times more work for no extra pay. Not only only will i be doing the work of 3 people but i'll also be wracking up about an hour and a halfs overtime every day. We dont get paid for overtime. Gotta love the NHS.

I feel quite sad and really disappointed right now.
I feel I'm far to much of a generous, easy-going, kind person and people seem to take advantage of that or just don't appreciate the way I am. It really hurts to be honest but that's some people for you. I can't change them.

Really down at the moment. My anxiety is playing up really bad, which is rocking my self confidence and making paranoid. Can't help but feel trapped and claustrophobic. But I know I might feel a bit better tomorrow, I think I just need to go to bed and get myself some sleep.

I'm feeling very sore. Started with a personal trainer on Sunday and I'm broken already! My poor muscles (arm) don't know what's happened to them. I'm hoping I'll be recovered by Friday as it's session number 2 and we're doing the same again! Yikes!!
