I saw that story. I really wonder what goes on inside people's heads sometimes. I hope to God the kid grows up, changes his name and disowns his twats of parents.

*bump*
Honestly, this whole "kid who's a dad at 13" thing is just... I'm lost for words, it's making me that damn angry. The thing that makes it worse is all of the people commenting on the stories saying "Ohhh, bless the poor kids, they're helpless, I feel so sorry for them"... NO! They're NOT helpless. At 13 I knew full well that sticking that part of me inside that part of a girl without any precautions would probably result in a baby.
Of course, the other side of this is that they're clearly going to go on to become brain surgeons and earn a phenomenal amount of money by working hard and actually trying to make their way in the world... (Yep, feel the sarcasm)... I fully expect them to get a free house and all the rest of it just because "they didn't know, bless them"... For a start, there's (allegedly) 3 or more other boys who slept with her who are claiming to be the father!
Spawn of scum. If that makes me sound elitist and pretentious, then fuck it, I'm elitist and pretentious. But the fact there's people struggling to conceive who are genuinely ready for a baby, who've worked their entire lives to get to that point... I just... God damn it.

Admitedly, you read the backstory and it was pretty obvious they were both going to end up sponging off the government sooner or later, since that's how they've been brought up, in huge families in council houses. I don't believe that there are 3 other boys involved though, I wouldn't take News Of The World as gospel. I just think you're last paragraph there is a bit wrong, because as I've said mistakes do happen, and if a mistake does happen it doesn't nessecarily make the 'parents' spawn of scum. I also think this country's sex education is terrible, all I can remember is seeing video after video of 'use a condom!'. Whatever happened to good old fashioned relationships?

Sorry but I agree with Ben more on that one. Some people are so so stupid. You can have the best sex ed in the world but if the 13 year olds think it's better to bunk off school to find out for themselves then what use is that?
Castrate them.

the other thing is, they're both under 16 so they've broken the law. as he's only 13 i think possibly it also counts at statutory rape? but of course nothing Will be done to enforce that either. why bother having a legal age to have sex...

It's different when they're both underage though isn't it? Thing is, if the bloke was 15 and the girl 13 I bet people would be far more outraged..

These news are so popular also over here: I was really surprised and I thought there were fake at first... Look at Alfie: he looks like he even doesn't understand where all the fuss about, he looks lost in front of the cameras...He CAN'T understand it, he can't know what being a father is at that age...He's still a child...and the fact he looks like 8 instead of 13 makes everything even more appaling. At least today these news de-dramatized the thing a bit: it made me laugh a lot!

yeah, surely it was printed on the ticket?
this is the bit that has me curious:
"I asked the taxi driver to take me to this hotel I'd pre-booked, he looked in amazement, speechless, then laughed and said, 'This is not Costa Rica. It's Puerto Rico'."
that suggests it's a mistake that happens all the time, because how did he know that immediately? unless it was called The Costa Rica Hotel or something obvious like that.
