Great finding! After hearing the samples, this album already feels better than the previous ones for me. This is more or less what I expected of Feeder when they released ABE. Suddenly I want to be in August as soon as possible...

The title track sounds great from those previews. Kyoto sounds epic, like a follow-up to the Polythene-esque tracks from All Bright Electric.

Trying not to listen to the samples too much or I'll ruin it for myself but this album sounds absolutely brilliant! Generation Freakshow is my favourite album, and those samples really seem to hark back to that sound. August can't come soon enough!

Thanks for that. Although saving the html page will help if google removes the cache, it won't help if they remove the actual mp3 files from the amazonaws servers. If you'd like to download the .mp3 samples they use then go the following: s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/tmstoressamples/15529.mp3The whole album samples are 15529 through 15540. You can click the 3 column button on the right side, and download button will come up, and you can download all samples to your computer if you'd like. By the way, the samples sound awesome, this seems like it may be the best Feeder album in a long time, a mix between their commercial, softer and harder roots.

Fear of Flying isn't bad, it feels like different parts of unused olde Feeder songs put together, feels familiar but nothing special. Only a few listens deep, but I am happy if we get a few songs of Eskimo / Universe of Life levels of great, which feel much more riskier than FoF.
Nonetheless, new Feeder is always exciting and can't wait for August, even if the cover isn't great 😂

Fear of Flying is nice, a solid song. Agreed that it sounds like it would fit well on Generation Freakshow. But I too would prefer more tracks along the line of ABE which I thought was brilliant - riskier indeed, which is refreshing based on how Grant nearly always plays it safe.
I managed to get a quick listen of the samples the other week - sounds really interesting, can't wait!

Has an all out, summery, up tempo feel that not many Feeder songs have. Might sound weird but after one listen reminds me of a cross between High 5 and Uptight.

Yeah I agree, it's got that up tempo positive feel that's become quite a rarity among Feeder songs in more recent years. I can almost imagine it slotting in somewhere on Echo Park.
Pretty sure I like it more than Fear of Flying so far, though is it just me or are the 'oohs' at the start of the song almost identical?
I can see it being a live staple for a little while as it should be quite a fun one.

I agree that it's great to hear an uptempo track, it's been a while! I'm getting huge YWTS vibes from this, reminds me a bit of You're My Evergreen and Hole in My Head. Love the video too, quite nostalgic with the photographs.

As a HUGE Transformers fan (I’ve written a book about them, properly published and all), it’s great to see a Transforming robot toy in the video to ‘Youth’ (around the 3:09 mark). If anyone’s interested, the robot in question is not a Transformer, but a progenitor of the brand - it’s a red/blue variant of the Diaclone Attackrobo ‘Jet Type’ (or possibly a knockoff thereof). The toy was later released in the Transformers range in 1985, given a blue/grey colour scheme and named ‘Topspin’. Here’s a handy link to photos of the toy: diaclonegenomeproject.blogspot.com/p/coming-soon-diaclone-attack-robo-index.html?m=1#Jet%20Type:%20Red/Blue%20VariantDon’t say you don’t learn anything on this forum! PS: Good track, much better than the first one.

I find the comments on Youth interesting, as I loved Fear of Flying almost immediately but am not a big fan of Youth so far.

I thought exactly the same thing. Could definitely have them bridge together in a live set, if they wanted to! For me, the song melody reminds me of "Walk Away" a bit (though I may need to go and play the song again, been a while). I reckon you could takes elements from "Walk Away" and mash it with "Youth" somewhere. I'm not that clever to try to do it though 😂

I reckon Youth is the baby of Hole in my head and San Diego. It's in a different league to songs like Walk Away imho. Great stuff!
