It's one of a small number of Feeder tracks I don't like.

I do have plenty of sympathy for the band as regards set lists. When they asked on Facebook this week what tracks people wanted to hear from Tullulah, the majority seemed to dodge the question completely and requested either the often played hits many others would like a break from or super obscure b-sides there is almost no chance the band would play on a major tour like this. It must take some time making any sense of a list like that.

Yeah, that must be tedious to deal with.
Next time, it might be a good idea to present the question as a poll, rather than free text?

So,
What's the one song everyone would like to hear on this tour. The the only rule is it has to have been a 'regular' live song at some point in time (so now Slowburn!)
I'd like to hear Descend again, but given that it's always a long one I wouldn't want to sacrifice another song or two to have it.
My pick, Sonorous!

Can't Dance to Disco.
Or Generation Freakshow.
Toss a coin.

Oh My Comfort In Sound Generation Freakshow We Are The People
Any of the above would be lovely and not outrageous to request!

I was in a boring meeting this morning, so I crunched the numbers from the Facebook poll.
There's some interesting stuff.
People suggested lots of songs that are not from Tallulah. Most songs got 1 vote. But there were some trends.
First, here are the votes for Tallulah, ranked: Kyoto - 39 Tallulah - 27 Fear of Flying - 25 Shapes and Sounds - 25 Youth - 19 Blue Sky Blue - 17 Daily Habit - 15 Rodeo - 8 Guillotine - 5 windmill - 4 Kite - 3 Lonely Hollow Days - 1
And here are some other observations: 1. More people want to hear Tallulah in full on the tour than voted for either Buck Rogers, JTWIF or Just a Day.
2. There might be value in giving some of the live standards a rest. Buck Rodgers got 4 votes Just a Day - 4 Seven Days in the Sun - 2 Insomnia - 2 Feeling a Moment - 1 Just the Way I’m Feeling - 1 Lost & Found - 1 Tender - 1
(Of course, it might be that people don't vote for those songs because they feel inevitable)
3. The top two non-Tallulah tracks that haven't been played live for a long time were Comfort in Sound (6 votes) and Tangerine (5)
4. There was very little love for songs from 'Silent Cry', 'Renegades', 'Generation Freakshow' and 'All Bright Electric'

It's interesting to see Kyoto top. That's the most oldschool sounding Feeder song from Tallulah, though longer fans are more likely to interact with the page. There will be many fans who don't care as long as they hear their 3 or 4 favourites. Also, my top 3 from the album got most votes.

Miss You always springs to mind. It's short and fast paced, I've always thought it'd be great to play 2nd or 3rd in the set to get the crowd going. I love Miss You, but the short period the band played it live when it was a current track was disappointing in my opinion. It wasn't as heavy or had the emotional delivery it has in the studio version, and sounded fairly flat. Which is where I first remember thinking that Grant's singing wasn't the same as it used to be. He still sings terrifically in a way that suits the style of music, but it's definitely different from the younger days. So while it would be great to see Miss You again as a surprise, I hope it wouldn't be the same as the lackluster way they performed it then. I won't be seeing Feeder this year as I've seen them plenty of times in recent years. The Best of You tour delivered a great setlist that was a good way of ending a run of seeing them regularly for 10 years. We muse on setlists frequently here and I agree on the conclusion we always seem to draw; that the band plays it relatively safe and we always hear the same singles, so that's a big factor in my decision. (Although in the past couple of years it's been a bit better! Getting stuff like Sweet 16 occasionally and hearing Stereo World, Cement, Crash, and Silent Cry on the Best of Tour). I hope everyone who's going has a great time. I do pane a bit at my decision at missing the Tallulah album tracks that will inevitably disappear when the campaign is over, but hey-ho. (I preferred All Bright Electric)

Quite a Tallulah-heavy set tonight from the looks of things, 7 in total with them playing 5 in a row at one point.
Usual greatest hits making up the rest, but a performance of Comfort in Sound for the first time since 2006 too! Which oddly enough, was at my first ever Feeder gig.
EDIT: Yeah 2009, not 2006, but still!

Delighted that Comfort in Sound is back. I only started going in 2006 so I've never seen it. Hope it stays for the whole tour! Just watched a video on YouTube and it sounds pretty bloody great. Hadn't anticipated how 'chanty' the chorus would be with the crowd singing along haha

Anyone at the Exeter show on Saturday? Setlist.fm suggesting they only played 16 songs, which I'm assuming can't be right?
Also, long shot, but I'm going to the show in Oxford tonight. Unfortunately the missus has had to pull out at short notice, so I've got a spare ticket going if anyone here might want it? Happy to let it go for face value of course.

Don't want to be too pedantic but Comfort In Sound was played on the Silent Cry Tour in 2008... but yeah it's still 11 years since it's been seen. It'll be interesting to see if anything else different appears. Anyone at the Exeter show on Saturday? Setlist.fm suggesting they only played 16 songs, which I'm assuming can't be right? Also, long shot, but I'm going to the show in Oxford tonight. Yes Exeter cannot be right. Surely! Hopefully you'll get a fuller set in Oxford.

Feeder’s setlist at the O2 Academy in Oxford earlier tonight;
Youth Renegades Feeling a Moment Daily Habit Fear of Flying Shapes and Sounds Figure You Out Just the Way I’m Feeling Kyoto Eskimo Kite Tallulah Come Back Around Insomnia Comfort in Sound High Guillotine Seven Days in the Sun Buck Rogers
Blue Sky Blue Just a Day
So 9 out of the 12 songs on Tallulah! Live debut for Guillotine too - Grant mentioned it wasn’t part of the setlist but decided to play it. Definitely seems a very deliberate choice this tour as (ironically just before Just the Way I’m Feeling, I think) Grant said something like ‘Do you want to hear some new songs, or the same old shit we’ve been playing for years? This is the Tallulah album tour, we’ve done the Best Of tour. We’re really keen to play you some new songs’. Or something to that effect. All in a jokey tone of course, but still it made it apparent that they were definitely prioritising the newest album a bit more than they usually do on tours.
Crowd took a while to get going for that reason as obviously in the first 7 songs there was only one obvious crowd pleaser, but things picked up a little more from Just the Way I’m Feeling onwards. Grant seemed to be really enjoying himself which was great. Again who knows how true this is but I think he also mentioned that High wasn’t originally on the setlist either and even did an audience vote as to whether or not we got Seven Days in the Sun or Pushing the Senses. Tonight definitely cemented the fact Kyoto is my favourite song from Tallulah.
I remember thinking it was the best sound I’ve heard at a gig in a while too. Not sure if it was just where I was stood, or if the sound engineer deserves credit, but the guitars were crisp and Grant’s vocals were prominent in the mix.
Great to be able to see Feeder play just a 5 minute walk away from my house again, having last come to Oxford as recently as April 2017. I’d been suffering from something a bit flu-y over the weekend so wasn’t sure if I’d be up to it, but yeah considering just how ridiculously close it is I couldn’t not at least try. Very glad I made the effort in the end!

That's a nice set. 21 songs as well, much more like it. I know it's played a lot but I'm pleased to see Renegades back and Lost & Found left out... Now if they could just slot My Perfect Day in I'd be more than happy.

Must agree, I didn't miss Lost & Found at all. For most of the usual staples you can understand why they're there, but it's strange how long Lost & Found has survived (especially over something like Shatter).
There definitely did seem to be a sense of the band tiring of the classics somewhat. Even before Buck Rogers, Grant said something like 'You know what's coming...do we really have to play it?'
But at the same time, the more reactive the crowd are, the more Grant especially seems to enjoy himself, so it is still the classics that seem to help carry the show.
