Don't get too excited, they're not reforming (at least not yet), but I received an early Christmas present in my inbox today, the 3rd album demos. Apart from Bleach In Your Motherfecking Eye which has been around for a while, they've only recently been rediscovered and I have permission to give them to anyone who wants them, so if anyone does then send me a PM or post here. There are 5 in total. I know Mr Pete is a fan, as was Nance and Baraquel. And maybe Stu? He's from the same era anyway. If you've never heard them before, get On the Outside. You also might know of them as two former members are in Hell Is For Heroes.

I have On the Outside, One Day at a Time and Killing Position - all good stuff : )
I'll take a listen for sure : )

and also get the mini-album "One Day At a Time"!!!!!. The single "Killing Position" is also an important addition, not forgetting the only commerically released video of them trashing the stage as a CD enhanced element!! (they usually did that).

PMs I got Bleach from their Myspace page but always eager to hear more ... I recently tracked down a copy of their "shit" fan club only single That completed my collection of released songs.

I was going to email rather than bother with yousendit. I know the Crashmat email...

The Crashmat email can only be accessed on dialup, so there's no way it could take mp3s. I'll PM you a different one...

Everyone (apart from Stu because I messed up) should have the four tracks now. PMs I got Bleach from their Myspace page but always eager to hear more ... I recently tracked down a copy of their "shit" fan club only single That completed my collection of released songs. I only got that a few months ago as well, it took years to find - I'd given up! I have a couple of other rare tracks someone kindly sent me, vinyl only I think. I Like To and My Head. If you need those then let me know.

*checks mail* nothing I think I have those tracks ... a guy called Alan (who ran the Xanthein site) sent me a home made compilation of Sympo rarities a few years back. Do you have "The Girl With Brains In Her Feet" and "Twist" ?

Do you have "The Girl With Brains In Her Feet" and "Twist" ? My emails have a tendency to find their way into people's spam folders? I sent two last night and two the night before. If those two haven't been on CD I don't have them.

"The Girl With Brains In Her Feet" was done for a movie but never used so it's unreleased. "Twist" was used in the film Shooting Fish and was on the soundtrack but also as a 7" only b-side on the Average Man single. When I get your e-mails I'll know the address to send these tracks back to you

Ah, I have the Shooting Fish soundtrack so have Twist. I don't think I have the other one though so if you could send that. I'll send you one track and the others when you've confirmed you've received the one...

As Marcus pointed out to me, "I Will" (one of the Sympo 3rd album demos) uses the same riff as You Drove Me To It by HIFH...I've just listened to You Drove Me To It and it's just the same apart from the lyrics! I knew HIFH had reused some Sympo stuff but I didn't think so blatantly.

btw ... SONGS NEVER RELEASED IN STUDIO FORM Song Description Bleach In Your Motherfucking Eye (3:14) This song used the "Symp-tallica" tag that Symposium acquired near the end of there career. This demo was made available to download on myspace on 7th June 2006! Mine A typical fast, sharp, spiky symposium song. Peshwari Naan This song used the "Symp-tallica" tag that Symposium acquired near the end of there career. *** I have found out that this song was re-used for the HIFH song 'You Drove Me to It' ***. Space Between Us No known information. To The Lighthouse A Fugazi-ish chuggy song with really cool harmonies. *** I have found out that this song was re-used for the HIFH song 'I Can Climb Mountains' ***. Together This could have been a single - a really cool pop/rock song sounding a bit like Faith No More and the Posies. Welcome To Heaven No information on this song yet. To quote the Xanthein fansite
