Today, whilst going about my business at work, I had a Feeder song stuck in my head. I recalled it as one of my favourites, but couldn't put my finger on which it was. I finally realised that it was "We Can't Rewind", and it led me to thinking about what a big hit it could have been if it was a single.
Now we all know that "Turn" wasn't really a great choice for a single (although contrary to many, I actually think it's a pretty good song), so which song off Echo Park would have made a better single?
I left "Piece By Piece" off the list, since technically it was a single. I was going to leave "Bug" off too, on account of it's crapness, but I figured that wouldn't have been very democratic of me.
Vote away, lest this thread die and float around the board stagnating like a corpse in an abandoned swimming pool.

WCR was always a bit of a misfire to me. It should have been hard rocking but in its present form it's pretty limp

WCR was always a bit of a misfire to me. It should have been hard rocking but in its present form it's pretty limp I guess you voted for "Satellite News" then. Good choice - one of my all time favourite Feeder songs. I've had the good fortune not hearing any Feeder songs in any form prior to their recorded form, so I don't pick up on any alterations that are made. It sucks when you get used to an early version of a song, then the band changes it and you have to learn to love it all over again. I think that "We Can't Rewind" works perfectly as a mid-tempo song, since a lot of Echo Park is either hard rocking ("Choke", "Seven Days In The Sun") or soft ("Oxygen", "Piece By Piece") without much in the middle.

Yeah but We Can't Rewind is just dying to be a hard rocker - it's not designed to be mid tempo!

I've always liked We Can't Rewind... agreed it's mid-tempo, but i think that suits it.

I was going to leave "Bug" off too, on account of it's crapness, now thats just swaying the opinions of your poll taking public on here,im sure that Bug would be winning if it wasnt for that comment you made but im above it,im a professional (Tap quote) so i can make opinions of my own,WCR wud of been a good single yah but personally i thought Turn was a good choice for a single, maybe didnt get played as much as Buck Rogers or 7Days tho n if they done TAYF then theyd be branded pop rock or something so i think Oxygen would of been a good last single from it because its a slowie and its one of those ones that are amazing live (LIKE WCR,by the way stu have you heard that live?)

I think Oxygen is a gorgeously sexy song, but not really single material. Ditto Satellite News, which is beautiful but I can't see it as a single. So I've gone for TAYF because it's uplifting and catchy and great to sing along to at the top of your voice!

so what your saying is that it doesnt rock but does live but not on cd? so you have heard it live? I have heard live versions of it (and yes they do rock slightly harder) but I've never seen it performed live if that's what you're getting at.
