Had my first High Court case today for a guy who had some corporate work done for him by my firm , the whole merger fell apart and he couldn't afford to pay us so we sued him for the money.
We were awarded the money by the judge and he ordered a winding up petition meaning they will force him to sell his business to go bankrupt so he has to sell his assets to pay us, its probably gonna be his house and he has a family cause he told me and they might be made homeless for christmas.
Its name on all the letters, I was the one to asked the partner to let me commence legal proceedings, did all the calls and its all my fault for just 10k
I feel like a right shit.

It's not your fault! I'm sure he would have known before he signed it if he had the money? Im assuming he commited a rather large amount of money? Can't be the kinda sum you can misplace or accidently spend!
If he agreed to pay, it's his responsibility to pay up. It's his fault for being irresponsible for either agreeing to pay what he couldn't afford, or not managing his money.

Gee, thanks Baraquel.
I feel really bad about it, especially as I now seem to be putting small firms out of business everyday, my boss says it could be worse, I could work for a bank where people default on their mortgage, i still feel really bad, its worse cause i actually spoke to him and stuff.

...The dog on the right. Or maybe the one of the left is looking at the one on the right to try and make the one in the middle to think that it was the one on the right rather than him on the left?
No it's not your fault if some other guy can't manage his money?

It isn't your fault. Your job has guidelines and given tasks and expectations, you were merely a pawn to the corporate system of money-hungry fat cats. Blame the people at the top.

It's your chosen profession. If you want to succeed, you have to do the nasty stuff as well.
