yeh but thats purely because the band has had a lot more exposure since then... a bit obvious given the time factor!

I just found Viva to be very bland...also I thought the second single(forget it's name, the popular one on the iTunes advert..) was absolutely terrible and extremely annoying. Also, it is about the Crusades, and seems far to upbeat and just a totally strange combination of things and it doesn't work. Violet Hill was ok, and a few songs here and there, but it's painfully overrated.
But then it one loads of awards and will probably get best album and The Brits, so what do I know...?
EDIT: Also on the subject of overrated bands, I'm dreading U2's return!

Yep I can agree with that... am I the only one who thinks their songs have been really poorly mastered? It definitely shows in Beautiful Day (the one with the gimmicky airplanes continuously taking off and landing above their heads )

anything 50 cent, or the so called 'G-Unit' brand related, tends to be thrown a great distance, from a great height
on the subject of coldplay, my personal fav album is still parachutes, x & y was terrible though

ahh on the subject of U2 - have you heard War, Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby? All AMAZING albums IMO was listening to War in way to work today. sublime. VLV i've only listened to couple of times, certainly less instant than previous coldplay albums for me

Coldplay - I like VLV, it's better than X&Y. But i still prefer Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood...
U2 - I have a few of their albums but i rarely listen to them. A couple of songs at a time is enough for me, then i'm bored and need to listen to something a bit more exciting. I certainly would not pay to see them live.

ANY Codplay CD makes a good Frisbee Franz Ferdinand - 'Tonight' would make a good one too - although this opinion may change after I see them live next Friday.
