Just had this email from Recordstore.co.uk. So the new album is called 'Generation Freakshow' due for release on March 26th 2012.
Interesting album name, I wouldn't have expected a title like this.
On January 29th 2012, British rock institution Feeder return with new single 'Borders', which will be followed by 'Generation Freakshow' their 8th studio album on March 26th.
A classic and invigorating rock anthem dedicated to freedom and escape, 'Borders' is bolstered with Feeder's trademark; irrepressible choruses and huge tidal wave guitars. Released across limited edition CD single, 7" vinyl and retro cassette, all formats feature new and previously unreleased b-sides.
*EDIT* 20/01/12.
Feederweb email states release date is now 23rd April 2012.

best album title they've ever done, the last few album titles were quite boring and didn't match up to how good the songs were. This one will however get an individuals attention before listening to the album.

First impression - what an awful title... but that won't stop me getting excited for the actual music.

Title is...different! Which is a good thing I guess. The preview of Borders doesn't impress me too much to be honest, it's a bit samey. But the title does make me intrigued for the album .

March 26th?!? I can't wait that long! As others have said... the album title will take a while to sink in for me. Currently arranging to see if I can go to one of the gigs!

I really don't like the name. It might grow on me though. Depends if the title fits the mood of the album.

The Album title is to me quite disappointing and unoriginal, and does not sound intriguing at all, works more like a "put off" for my interest in this album. It's trying to hard to be cool and falls on it's face, ad does not sound like Feeder at all, at least not to me. Of course it might fit the songs perfectly but that one will have to wait and see to find out, so I guess I should just be patient and hope for the best. The sound on Borders is not really to my liking either, nor was Renegades really, though it has some enjoyable tracks it is to me their most forgettable album. This just seems like leftovers from Renegades and I really don't see why this is going back to the roots because it does not sound like old Feeder at all in my ears. Don't really see the need to go back either, as I felt they were at their best with YWTS,EP,CIS, PTs and SC. They should go forward not backwards. For me the biggest problem with Renegades is the lyrics and vocal. I hope that is a trend that they don't bring to Generation Freakshow. Touring long before album-release is also something that I don't like. That took the fun out of Renegades as an album when almost every track was played before we got the album. Hopefully the drums will be better this time around, I did not like the ones on Renegades except for on a few tracks, they need someone who can fill the hole after John and Mark who were epic, so far they are not even close to that. Hopefully Daemon is better than Brazil. I also feel that Grant needs to mix up the recipe for the way he composes a track, because it is getting a bit old after 7 albums, very obvious on the Renegades-album. I feel a bit sad toward being so negative towards my favorite band but I really do not feel exited at all, and fear another letdown like Renegades was for me. Hopefully though Generation Freakshow will blow me away and all will be forgotten. Just postpone the bloody tour and get the album out asap! Pushing the album back to 26 of march so you can tour before release is just stupid, yikes! Hopefully my frustration will be transformed into excitement with the downloads, as long as they aren't as week as the Renegades-downloads were.
