Tallulah must have a good chance of top 10 given all the formats and instores. Was just thinking about this, how does the album sales week go again, Friday to Friday? Yep. The midweek charts are out on Tuesday. I forgot to mention all the other high profile promotion such as Chris Evans on the radio and Sara Cox on ITV. I can't remember so many high profile appearances before other recent albums. Though there's not much new for old fans, this "Classic Artists" interview (probably why Virgin requested Feeder play Buck Rogers) is pretty good and in depth: Noel Fitzpatrick (who I hadn't heard of before, but I'm hardly up-to-date with celebs) turns out to be a big Feeder fan (about 8:40): virginradio.co.uk/radio/listen-again/1565328600 (Buck Rogers is around 9:05).

Interesting. I'd say that review is pretty spot on (apart from calling Kyoto "nu-metal"!). Some of the lyrics are definitely cringeworthy (that cafe culture line is one I shook my head at the first I heard it). The difference here is we all love and know Feeder, warts and all. Lyrics have never been a strong suit of Grant's. After a few listens though- Tallulah is a strange one. Its a nostalgic listen, in that it's very 2005 - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I kinda want them to take me back to 2005. It certainly doesn't push any boundaries. But I'm pretty content with that from Feeder. It still has all the woohoo's Feeder is known by (vocal and/or guitar) but they feel a bit dated these days. Most of the tracks would be better without them (Guillotine) I find the more mid-tempo, grinding, less arena-rock tracks like Blue Sky Blue and Rodeo the more interesting listens on the album. Those two have some catchy chord progression hooks. Some tracks are pretty forgettable, Guillotine, Shapes and Sounds. The latter sounds awfully like an aging rock band trying to do something that could get some radio airtime - and missing the mark by a lot. Easily the worst on the album. Tallulah feels like a step back from the more creative, edgier, eclectic All Bright Electric - and the catchier, more modern pop tracks added to The Best Of (Walk Away, Bees, Veins, Dive (<-- personal fav), and Sirens) Best tracks after a few listens: Blue Sky Blue Fear of Flying Rodeo Tallulah Hopefully the rest grow on me... I'll surely give it enough of a listen!

This album peaks so much higher than Arrow and ABE for me. Tallulah and Windmill are the best songs they've done since GF.
Would love to see someone resurrect the Survival polls, we've had quite a lot of material since that phased out.
(Someone give Potroque a bell!)

Kyoto-Kite-Windmill is a hell of a good run of songs. Loved Kyoto and Kite from day 1, and Windmill has just clicked with me properly.
It's still too early to really think about where the album fits in overall, but the signs are all pointing towards it being a top 5 Feeder album for me.

Shapes and Sounds favourite for me so far. Love the layering of guitars. Guillotine very strong too.
All in all, I definitely prefer it to ABE. Probably just pipping GF for me...which makes it my favourite Feeder album since Silent Cry!

What do the numbers mean? Must be sales but thousands? tens of thousands??? You were right the first time. That's how little physical releases sell now. Without all the Feeder bundles, it's probably much less. Tallulah's still looking good for the top 5 today anyway, which would be great. Edit: I don't know if streams are included in those figures. For singles, 100 streams = 1 sale, but I don't know how album streams work chart-wise. This album peaks so much higher than Arrow and ABE for me. Tallulah and Windmill are the best songs they've done since GF. Would love to see someone resurrect the Survival polls, we've had quite a lot of material since that phased out. (Someone give Potroque a bell!) I thought it'd be fun to rate all the songs in a Google Sheet to find out the best era on average. Pete listed every song on Facebook recently, so maybe we could ask for the spreadsheet with the song and album columns...

Remember the good ol' days when I made a whole website just for rating the tracks... and no one used it lol When you have that many tracks to go through it's incredibly tough to put them in order though.

Remember the good ol' days when I made a whole website just for rating the tracks... and no one used it lol When you have that many tracks to go through it's incredibly tough to put them in order though. Yeah, it is tough, but I did do that right after The Best Of came out. I was a bit disappointed it was all singles(pretty much), rather than an actual best of all their material(including album tracks and b-sides, like why isn't Descend on it?). So I decided to try and come up with my top 40 Feeder Best Of. What I ended up doing, is I went on Feeder Anorak, and tried to get an Excel spreadsheet of every song Grant did(I decided to add in Solo work, covers, collabs, and pre-Feeder material). I divided tabs, by album, then I ranked each album individually from best to worst song on that album, and also put a number beside it 10 = best, 0 = worst. Then I went on YouTube and listened to everything I could find. Which surprisingly is almost everything, except 13 or so tracks, mostly from Reel and Raindancer eras. Once I had that, a top 40 was too low, so I did a top 200, since it was a sweet playlist, and they have too much great material to listen to. Since that was close to all their material, I decided for completionist sake, I would just add the rest of the songs to my playlist. Thing is with this kind of ranking is everything is fluid, things move up and down, and I've rearranged things here and there since if it is ranked, I should never feel like skipping to a better song. It is hard, and that changes with time, I've also tried inserting all the new songs from Tallulah, which is hard, since I've been listening to it non stop and I find it one of their best most consistent albums ever, so I have 6 songs off this album in my Top 20 at the moment, but that may just me being really into Tallulah at the moment since it is new, maybe things will go down later. Also they have so much material, and everybody has their own ranking of likes/dislikes, since Feeder is so diverse, so no way my list will be the same as anybody elses. I do tend to like their hard and soft stuff pretty equally, so it is quite mixed in. Either way, for everybody to enjoy Feeder - Complete Discography playlist which currently has 267 of Feeder/Grant's tracks. At least if you are going to start somewhere, having all their songs in one playlist to listen to is a good start. By the way if I am missing anything let me know and I will add it.

I believe you're spot on with that: The first to take on board audio streams was the Official Singles Chart from the beginning of July 2014 - with 100 audio streams (drawn from services such as Spotify, Deezer, Napster and O2 Tracks, among others) equating to 1 single purchase. In July 2018, video downloads and streams were incorporated for the first time. Doesn't mention about albums though?

Remember the good ol' days when I made a whole website just for rating the tracks... and no one used it lol When you have that many tracks to go through it's incredibly tough to put them in order though. Inspired by someone who ordered all 250ish songs, I managed it with around a hundred of Teenage Fanclub's. I rated them out of 10 then sorted the rating column, so it was in some sort of order that was easier to refine. So similar to what poapst2 did, but not as hardcore. Whenever I do these sort of things, towards the top of the list tends to me the most 'accurate', then there are loads of songs I wouldn't say I liked more than the other. I was going to mention your website. I'm sure there were a decent amount of ratings initially. It doesn't seem that long ago either - it was after Silent Cry?

I have a copy of the website but like a dope I didn't keep a backup of the database, so I can't tell you what your favourite tracks were in 2010

I bet Google has a backup. _We know everything about you...even your top 20 Feeder songs in 2010_ There is a copy of the front page on the Web Archive but since it was a database driven site with a login nothing was indexed. In any case I took my old song list spreadsheet and stuck it on Google Sheets with the new tracks added: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QsYa_oyQ7MnPk1d12gUtxmBi-vlpSTgu3AD4ucCmV4c/edit?usp=sharingFeel free to take a copy of it if anyone wants to attempt the unthinkable complete ranking. Also feel free to point out any mistakes, of which I'm sure there are some. No live/acoustic/alternate versions except for the usual exceptions like Dry or the Suffocate/Paperfaces single versions etc.

I think it’s 1:100 for premium streams, 1:600 for ad funded streams and that’s doubled when they’ve been out for 10 weeks... (a bit more to it than that, but it’s very confusing) Albums aren’t much simpler www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/uk-s-official-albums-chart-to-include-streaming-data-for-first-time__8012/Can’t see Tallulah getting a huge amount of steam ‘sales’ mixed in anywho

It only took me 15-20 minutes to do a top 100, by rating/10 then ordering that column. But the rest will probably take much longer, and now there are a few songs I need to listen to again...
