This sounds ace! Sounds more in the vein of All Bright Electric, which I prefer to Tallulah. I'm glad Grant still likes the heavy side.

New album and tour it seems!
No dates officially announced just yet, clicking on the link for the new album just hints at a pre-sale from next week, but searching for Feeder tickets across Seetickets and Ticketmaster a few dates come up next year;
Apr 23rd - Bexhill-on-Sea Apr 24th - Oxford Apr 26th - Southampton Apr 27th - Bristol Apr 29th - Manchester Apr 30th - Glasgow May 2nd - Newcastle May 3rd - Nottingham May 5th - Birmingham May 6th - London

Cool that the new album is coming... but pre-order now for March next year?!

Sounds like Geoff on the drums too, not Karl.

Cool that the new album is coming... but pre-order now for March next year?! Yeah it's a bit of an agonising wait from announcement to release. The Tallulah release window was similarly prolonged. Looking forward to yet more music though. I'm glad Grant still remains creative and dedicated to Feeder.

What do you think of ‘Torpedo’ after a few days and a few listens?
I like it, but I don’t think it’s a future classic. I fear it’s one of those songs that will get played on the album tour then shelved, like ‘Idaho’, ‘Paperweight’, ‘Sentimental’, ‘We Are the People’, ‘Call Out’ or ‘Veins’ :-(

The most recent Feeder setlists are the starkest reminder how predictable they are live, which is nothing new. I was pleasantly surprised that Universe of Life and Eskimo remained in many setlists for a good few years after ABE (and still remain?) but otherwise it's the same old collection of singles every time. It won't change though, live performing is more important than ever for artists for revenue and Grant is a very cautious person; he sees quite accurately that your run of the mill Feeder fan just likes their most popular songs over and over again, so I don't think he'll ever run a risky, die-hard pleasing set full of lesser-played gems. If the album turns out to be awesome (the past two have been pretty fantastic in my opinion) then I suppose I'll be looking into getting a ticket somewhere for next year as it'll be the only chance to get to hear some of those songs live.

To think that they played a festival the day they released ‘Torpedo’ and didn’t play it.
Imagine that.
“We’ve got a new album! And a new single, out today! But anyway, fuck that, here’s “Kyoto!”’
I find Grant really confusing sometimes.

Has anyone pre-ordered the album yet? If so, did you receive Torpedo as a download? For years now Feeder have used tms as their storefront and that hasn't changed, and you always got mp3s of the currently released tracks provided you had ordered said album. But nothing this time.

Hi, quick question… I’m probably just a bit slow, but on the Townsend Music website there’s a ‘limited edition’ red vinyl edition of the Torpedo album that’s NOT listed on the regular Feeder storefront (which is selling the purple and picture disc vinyls only). It appears the red vinyl is exclusive to independent record shops. So yeah, for all you completists out there, don’t forget the red vinyl as well, because it appears to be the only format that’s not part of the ‘bundle’ on the official site. Link: townsendmusic.store/product/89691So the (I think) complete list of you.K. formats is: BTCD0021 - CD BTLP0021 - purple vinyl BTLP0021A - red vinyl BTMC0021 - cassette BTPD0021 - picture disc vinyl Anyone found any more? Another colour cassette maybe?

The Healing from Torpedo has premiered today on Kerrang! Radio along with some interesting interview to Grant. planetradio.co.uk/kerrang/player/188496172/Go to 1:26:19 This song is quite a nice surprise. One of the most complete songs Feeder have made. I can hear bits of music of each previous Feeder album. If given on gigs the same extra touch Descend had, this could become a Feeder classic. btw thanks to Niai for sharing the album previews when they were available. I listened to them back then thanks to that post. Great finding!!

As others have commented on Youtube, the song does plod along a bit in typical Feeder fare until that switch up which is very unexpected. I too would love to hear it live, they could really accentuate those different parts. Still got about 6 weeks until the album comes out. =( Can't wait! I think this will be another classic.

Wow that switch in the middle is very unexpected indeed, but in a good way.
Very much looking forward to the new album in a few weeks and to seeing them live again for the first time in 2 and a half years in May!

Thanks! Good to hear them again, longer samples I think too. All sounds great, just a few days now. I think I'm going to adore this album.

Has Feeder’s Twitter been hacked? First they post a thread about Grant having a chest infection and not being able to do the Chris Evans radio show tomorrow. They then delete the thread, re-post it, delete it again, then delete all of their tweets going back to 2019, then tweeting some gibberish, then deleting it again.
Weird.
