Don't they just wind you up?
I've just been watching videos on Youtube. There's nothing wrong with the videos themselves, I search for ones I'd like to watch, and I watch them and enjoy them.
Unfortunately I think there must be a vast majority of people out there who search for things they don't like just so they can leave a comment on the video as to how much they dislike it, or leave a comment replying to someone who does like it and calling them an idiot for it.
I'm all for opinions, but how worthless must your life be if you spend the whole time trawling around the internet criticising other people for their opinions? Fair enough, have an informed debate with someone but why do it in front of the thousands of people who will read the page? Do people really need to seem that intellectual in front of others? Or do they actually think people want to read that they think a certain video is rubbish?
I get wound up when I read a comment on say, a video of someone riding a motorcycle, and someone says "dude, your bike is shit! You should have got a..." or when I read the comments for a music video and the first comment is just mindless criticism of the band. We all know the sort of comments that people have posted on the net before about Feeder referring to Jon - there's just no need for it, but it happens everywhere.
People's balls seem to really grow when they post on the net... I think for the benefit of everyone they should disable comments on sites like youtube. Opinions are great - idiots are not.
Am I the only person who thinks this?

I agree with you there. Some people just go to pages on Songmeanings, or Youtube, or whatever and just bag out the band/person/whatever the page is about. The thing is, why do these people bother? There seemed to be some guy who decided that he'd go to the JTWIF video page and then bag out Feeder, replying to everyone's comments about how much they sucked. I reprimanded him, telling him that he was wasting his time. I mean, they don't have to agree, they don't have to like the band/video/whatever, but if this guy hated Feeder so much then why did he even bother going to their video page just for the sole purpose of bagging them out? One time I went to a Blur video and all of the comments were just people fighting over blur vs oasis. Why bother? I think the people who comment on Youtube videos are the worst... Argh. Or people who treat youtube like myspace. Several times have I gotten messages from people I have no clue about saying that they want to be my friend and that I have "great videos." What? I don't even HAVE any videos. Sorry for ranting, I've just said everything that Horse already said...but hey, get a life people.

No Ant you're not the only one. It annoys the hell out of me. Happens on last.fm too. People commenting that "this band is shit"...well why are you looking at their page then?
There's nothing wrong with not liking something or having a good debate about it but seeking things out with the sole purpose of criticising it or the people who do like it is quite frankly pathetic.
I agree that comments should be disabled in places, especially on youtube because equally annoying is reading some comment from a spotty teenager which is something along the lines of "wow the lead singer is hotttttt!!!!!!!".

Oh tell me about it...
"OMG WTF he is so HAWT LOLZZ!!!11!!!!1"
Most likely to be found on Fall Out Boy videos. I don't care what they look like, I'm watching the video for the music, not the mopey bassist...

Yet again I have been struck by the vast stupidity of people in general when presented with the internet.
I'm all for freedom of speech but some people really shouldn't be allowed near a computer.
It's facebook that's set me off this time. Some of the ill-informed, idiotic and illiterate comments that people write in a debate... and then they have the gall to wonder why someone displaying a degree of intelligence has taken them apart with a comment...

Since there are plenty of them about and arguing with them isn't going to make them wake up, buy a spellchecker and develop half a brain cell, then the best course of action is surely to ignore these people and let them get on with it.
Look at their comments, quietly smile to yourself (whilst thinking: "what a pratt") and enjoy the rest of your day safe in the knowledge that you're more intelligent than 85% of the Internet (95% in my case)
Don't feed the troll and all that.

Nah I don't rise to it (or should I say lower myself), but it's kind of a shame to think how stupid people are in general. So many complain about politicians when all along it's really the general population that ruin a country...

Morons of other forums are making me really pissed off now - cut a long story short some guy who knows nothing about her called my girlfriend a fraud today - while I may be biased I know she isnt and i understand her circumstances which I'm not going to go into. Anyway I got really really angry at this especially as my girlfriend can take these things personally (she was upset) so I joined the forum and left a reply - now I'm being attacked on it by other people for attacking him even though he said far worse things about my girlfriend - I dont understand why so many people can be so nasty on the net. Achhhh im so angry right now

Hah I continued arguing with them for a bit before I got to the point of thinking that this was stupid. Have no idea what they said in their last post and I suspect I won't be visiting that forum anytime soon! Much happier posting on here. Thanks for the offer though

You encounter a lot when playing Call of Duty...
Kid (aged about 12): "*whistles loudly* HAHAHAHA I GON KILL YOOOS!!! LA LA LA LA LA LA LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA *whistles again then puts shit music on very loud*"
Me: "Please, shut the fuck up"
Kid: "Waaaaaaaah! I'm calling the police"
Me: "... Erm... OK then?"
Kid: *puts headset next to speaker of stereo and just pisses everyone off.*
The sooner they get a mute button in the game the better!

I think my friend needs to wise up a little about the net. She posts suggestive pics and then wonders why the arabs (the same ones who are after Katie, I'm guessing) come after her! And she doesn't want to refuse people when they're friend farming, because she "doesn't want to be a bitch." Gah! Will she learn?
