Not entirely sure what the race is going to be like today... with no refuelling, and no overtaking opportunities whatsoever, I don't know if I can be bothered watching this one!

Didn't watch it, but seeing how close the grid was to the final positions, looked shit. This had the potential to be the best season ever, and it's just been rubbish so far.

My jammy dad was in Istanbul last weekend for work, so seeing as the F1 was on his company decided to just grab him a couple of tickets, got to go both days and not spend a penny, he doesn't even like the F1, i'm very jealous

Definitely - another great result for McLaren! Looks like Red Bull aren't gonna run away with it as easily as everyone thought at the start of the year!

I got my hubby (from the kids) a Silverstone experience day driving an F1 car for Fathers Day today! He creamed his pants when he opened it, God knows how he's gonna be on the day he does it, lol!

Can't believe Mark Webber's luck - if that had happened 10 years ago, he'd have definitely been hospitalised. No question. Also, loving how Alonso's complaint against Hamilton came to absolutely nothing, even after the drive through penatly

Whoo - just got back from the Grand Prix. I don't know what it was like on telly, but I thought it was an awesome race.
Jenson's charge from 14th to 4th was the stuff of champions - great race

Ahh you went! So wish I'd gone this year - the race was brilliant even on TV! Was really impressed by both the McLaren drivers, which was all made even better by punctures for Vettel and Alonso!

The new pits building Schumi The two Lotus cars all out on their own Alonso doing some cheating Mark Webber on his final lap I dropped my 300mm lens with IS about a month ago and it's still being repaired, so I didn't get many decent photos which was a shame, but it was still a great afternoon. One thing that you don't notice on TV is just how slow the two Hispania cars are. To me they looked slower than the GP2 cars that were racing earlier in the day, and Webber must have lapped them after about five or six laps.

Ferrari given a $100,000 fine and referred to the FIA after telling Massa to let Alonso through. Brilliant

Ferrari given a $100,000 fine and referred to the FIA after telling Massa to let Alonso through. Brilliant About half way through the race I was thinking about how nice it was to see Ferrari back in contention and competing with Red Bull and McLaren. Then when they did the old switcharoo it made me remember why I hate them so much. Hope they get docked championship points as well.

come on, $100,000 fine is gonna make no difference to them whatsoever. can't help but think if it'd been Mclaren they'd have been disqualified from the race. ferrari, as ever, operate under completely different rules.
on a completely different note, class Senna tribute on top gear this week. worth catching on iplayer (the last 10 mins or so)

Poor Massa's face on the way to the podium, it was heart breaking! Even Alonso had the good grace to look slightly less ectsatic than would be expected with 1st. Can't believe they're trying to smooth it all over though... "Alonso is faster, can you confirm you understand" to "sorry" and "very very magnanimous" and even Alonso's "this is ridiculous"...
sigh.

Agreed on the Senna tribute - it was fantastic. It's shown me a serious side to Top Gear that I had no idea existed! I do feel sorry for Massa still. Think it'll be interesting to see if this has the same effect on Massa that favouritism in Red Bull had on Webber!

the safety car again! ahahaaaaa Vettel was livid. muchos enjoyment. schumacher/barichello and the pitlane was about the only interesting thing in the race, however i was very hungover so maybe i just wasn;t watching.
schumacher... i'm not sure how much i can believe his post race interviews about "giving reubens the opportunity to move to the left." he was quite clearly looking in his mirror as he closed on the right, and barichello had already told his team about schumacher closing gaps dangerously late!
