I wish I could go to the gig, it would be great to see some of you! :-)
The track is still growing on me. I think its the vocals that I really don’t like.

Why Japan always has the Deluxe version and UK hasn't? Feeder is a english band and Grant is from Wales. I can understand Feeder has released special edition albums in Japan because of Taka, but Grant Nicholas is only Grant Nicholas. Why will the special edition of the album be released only in Japan? It should be the opposite... I have the Japanese version of Echo Park, it's nothing to get excited about though. I got it from HMV, they appeared not long after Jon died.

It should be the opposite... Japanese albums almost always have extra tracks compared to the UK and European markets. This is basically because they don't have singles over there, usually and also because bands from UK & Europe don't go there that often, so try to compensate with a few extras. In some cases, Japanese albums also have lyric booklets, usually in English and Japanese. Useful if the UK edition doesn't have the lyrics in it. I am fairly sure that the UK will get a "normal" and a "deluxe" version. We got that for Silent Cry remember ...

Apart from the fact that it has 4 tracks on it that were not released in any other way in Japan. You may have the UK singles the extra tracks came on, but the Japanese didn't! Interesting fact, the reason you were able to buy the Japanese version in HMV, not long after Jon died, was because Feederweb / Echo were inundated with queries about why "Just A Day" was not on the album. Rather than re-pressing the UK version, it was easier to just mass import the Japanese version and sell that

Hi guys, long time trawler, first time poster; Love the new single, but as most of you have suggested I hope the rest of the album is a bit more experimental. I reckon Grant thought the first single should be familiar as to not polarise the mainstream fans, reckon there will be some electronics and heavy guitar riffs present in the rest of the album (hopefully!) Seems like a long time between first single and the release date really, quite annoyed we won't get another listen until then! Anyone reckon there will be a second single out before the album?

Does Soul Mates even count as a single? Certainly not in the traditional sense of the word. Sure it has a video, but It hasn't been referenced to as a single. Grant even called it a 'track from the album' when mentioning it's first play Radio 2, and it was given away for free, just like Sentimental, and Miss You before album releases.

Yeah, not a single for me. It's a freebie in exchange to build up a distribution list of email addresses. A common tactic these days ...

If I remember rightly Satellite News was a UK exclusive to encourage people to buy Echo Park from the UK rather than importing the 11-track overseas CD that cheap CD stores would sell - back then a few stores implied their stock was the UK version. Either that or it was released in the UK after it was released in some other territory, so to encourage people to wait for the UK release instead of importing. I think it was the former though. So yep, it's ironic that Echo ended up selling imported versions of Echo Park.

The gig is now sold out. Have I missed my chance? The free download no longer works for me. It was a limited download, so I think your only option now is the You Tube video(s) of it. Or wait for the album when you can get it via that.

Echo Park was named after an area of Los Angeles... Yorktown Heights is named after an area of New York...
Bit of a theme going here...

I think so. So it wasn't that exclusive Just exclusive on the album itself.

Just Ordered the Deluxe CD & Vinyl!, the guitar is tempting but £1200 is a bit steep for me.
