**LATEST** There is now also a new interview with Dean, carried out by sv.co.uk, to be found, unlikely as it may sound, in the Interviews section. So if you've ever wondered who he would love to collaborate with, or more importantly who his favourite Gladiator was, have a read and be enlightened

we were feeling nostalgic so watched new adventures of superman (what happened to dean cain??!) and then gladiators - with bad bad bad hair and fashion - john fashnau had the most hideous waistcoat, it was quite disturbing. and in retrospect, very obvious how many of the male gladiators must've been on steroids.
they should do a celeb one-off show or something, gladiators was awesome!

Was never a fan of superman...
Can't really remember gladiators too much, remember watching it. Was just a craze for a couple of years wasn't it? Old weekend tv used to be awesome.
Noel's House Party and the Generation Game.
Now that was tv...

There are not many signed albums left so get one while you can... ! As Helen said all albums have been received absolutely fine through the post to my knowledge, and with the album you'll probably get a copy of the Happy EP as well so good value for moneey Also it was in the news not long ago that sometime in the future on myspace you will be able to buy music legally from artists such as SV! www.myspace.com/sandstoneveterans

Thanks for your reply Ian! I feel a lot better about sending off the cheque thanks to you and everyone else who replied I hadn't heard about the legal downloads. Then again, I'm not really into Myspace. But surely that wouldn't include your SV site, since it's unofficial and run by yourself instead of the guys? Or am I missing something here? I'll send off my cheque today, can't wait to hear the album on my home stereo set!

I just read that sometime in the future you'll be able to legally purchase music through myspace. Unofficial or Official, I set it up and run it with help and input from Dean and Tom and it has their endorsement.

Then I guess I was missing something there But you get my point, right? I mean, if 'anyone' can set up an account for a band and all those accounts can sell music, whoever runs the site would be able to get money for something they have not worked on. Maybe yours has the guys support, but there's probably tons of pages the bands know nothing about. It will be interesting to see how Myspace will separate the official ones from the unofficial ones. Also, I wonder what fees Myspace will ask for this service. Surely they won't do it out of the kindness of their hearts. And last but not least: there are loads of people who do not have an account there and do not want one (me included!) - would be a shame if those people cannot be reached! EDIT: It's too early to spell properly

all good points ... one would hazzard a guess that it would be done centrally, if the person submitting the tracks for download could proove they owned the copyright. Myspace would collect the cash and then give some money to the copyright owner, taking their cut of course.
The fact is, you can already use Myspace to download tracks from band profiles for free, assuming the person making that page makes that option available. And I can't see, for the points you raised above, how they can change that so people have to pay.

i would imagine also that most bands are more likely to use existing song download sites (itunes etc) rather than set up a new account with myspace. at least that'll be true for established acts. for bands like SV and unsigned acts, as Pete says i'd imagine the free download option is going to be more useful - personally speaking i use the free download option and listen to extra tracks available on bands profiles, but i don't know if i'd pay for that.
*edit* i'm more likely to wait for an album and buy the cd - but i'm old-school, i much prefer having a physical copy

From what I've heard, there are still some record companies that aren't happy about tracks being sold through Myspace - I believe its something that it is very early stages of negotiation, but there is no definite go ahead for it as yet. meanwhile **YET ANOTHER SITE UPDATE**Tom has fielded (most of) the same questions as Dean - pop along to the Interviews section and have a look.www.sandstoneveterans.co.ukhelen x

you'll note the first paragraph talks about it being aimed at unsigned bands!
