i'd be more interested to know what Myspace's cut is going to be ... as it's all owned by the biggest money grabbing bastard in the world (Rupert Murdoch) I wouldn't be surprised if it's pretty big!

i wasn't making that point at you it was at Ian ... which is why i quoted him. ok fair enough, i thought you'd quoted it for my attention. my mistake. although a agree legal downloads through myspace would give bands yet more exposure, i definitely don't think they should limit themselves to myspace - as someone said earlier in this thread, yeah myspace has a lot of members, but theres also a hell of a lot of people who wouldn't go near it with a 50 ft barge pole......

i was very hesitant about Myspace at the start, but it's kind of grown on me ... only as a concept mind you, it still has far too many breakdowns and technical glitches to make it perfect!

Well, yes.. that's why I don't visit Myspace too often and why I don't have an account. It's kind of a scary thought everyone can read your profile and read your comments on other people's pages etc. I prefer 'normal' sites where you can just read the info and maybe listen to some music. I guess I'm getting old or something As I said in one of my previous posts, it would be shame for bands not the reach loads of people because they do not have a Myspace account. Also, because of Myspace's cut I would guess that unsigned bands would prefer to sell their music through their own sites instead since that way all the profits go to them, and not some dodgy website!

surely it's only scary when you open up on your profile ... there's not a lot on mine and certainly nothing that couldn't be found on my blog or owt else!
still, i think it's good for bands ... you just have to look at the explosion in the amount of Friends the Feeder profile has since we started to take it seriously and make the best use of it. Before we started, there were no more than a couple of thousand and now we're over 16,000!

Great vid that. And it renews my interest in going to Cuba. And that may also be the only place to see the 'Vets live too...

for those who aren't registered on Myspace, the Cuba vid can now also be seen if you register on www.sandstoneveterans.co.uk and go to the vids section

He's up on the MySpace under 'Other Vets'. What surprised me was the drummer/vocalist combo. Cool stuff
