I'd have to go with heavy stuff too because that's what Feeder do best.
There are a million and one bands all doing the softly softly stuff right now and to be fair; most of them do it better than Feeder do

I vote Echo Park style on the basis of songs like the Pushing The Senses and Feeling A Moment. I don't think they've got the real heavy rock in them anymore... Anyway, surely its a little soon to be talking about this!?

They're never going to go back now. I'm betting it'll be PTS take 2.

They're never going to go back now. I'm betting it'll be PTS take 2. You never know. PTS got some pretty nasty reviews, just like You Gotta Go There To Come Back did - and Stereophonics reverted. You're right though, can't see Grant doing that. It's all whimsical from now on

I voted mellowish rock, because it's the sound of modern music and Feeder's best songs are mellowish rock. However, giving it some though, I would love to see a more rocky album, so I can actually dance and go all weird when listening to it. PtS was far too mellow and if they go with an even mellower album next, I'm officially gonna make a "Make Feeder follow their fans" petition.

Phonics have hardly reverted. Dakota isn't nearly as awful as their previous run, but it's nowhere near WGA or P&C era.

The new Stereophonics album is definitely better than the last two, but rather than go back to their roots they thought they'd have a listen to New Order & The Killers and go a bit more synthy. One of the songs on it is a re-record of a demo from P&C I think.

But at least they listened to their fans criticism's.
I've bought Tourist from Athlete the other day and whilst I'm no big fan of Athlete I can't help but feel the album is better than PTS.

I've gone for heavy. I love the mellow stuff, but I'd love to hear some more songs in the style of polythene. It's one of my fav albums.. X Carrie X

I dont think PTS is that bad, its just a few songs feel like fillers, and on a 10 track album, its not on

Pilgrim soul isnt wat ud call soft. Its old classic feeder. Plus the slightly mellower stuff is just as good as the heavy stuff.

I've gone for the rock/pop thingy, mainly for YWTS. I think there's standout tracks on every single album Feeder have done, and I also think some of their "softer" stuff is too gorgeous for words. Can't listen to most of it, mind, 'cos I'd be a constant state of weepiness! I hope for a teensy bit more heavy guitar and a few less weepies on the next album.
