I don't know if you can reset a thread...Not on proboards anyway. You could delete the whole thread and get Ian to re-post the links, poor guy.

Maybe it could be reset? So there's only one page with the actual links on it? sounds good to me ... it should be locked to save unwanted and illegal additions being made ... only mods and the originator can add stuff! Do you think it'd be alright if I put the info on the Anorak as well ? Full credits being given of course ...

I'll remind him to put it back online if he can : )

If by lost you mean he no longer has the page files, he can use web.archive.org to get an old version back.

righty-ho ... the old owner of that has indeed lost it when his old host when bonk ... as he is now a MAD keane fan (see http://www.keaneshaped.co.uk) I've agreed with him that I will take it over and add an FAQ bit to the Anorak! : )
Of course, I will be able to keep it up to date etc ...

Let me know the new link to it as soon as you're done since I have a link to the FAQ on my main page.

I always wanted to ask: why do you bother putting FA_ in front of all your files?
|

Post by bigospedros on Jul 14, 2005 21:57:40 GMT
general pages have FA in front of them ... whereas actual release pages don't ... tis just a naming convention ... : )

Hmm. It's just means you have to type FA_ lots ; )

Hmm. It's just means you have to type FA_ lots ; ) i guess so ... ahh well, when I originally made the site, I had URL Masking on, which meant that you couldn't actually see the realy url of each page ... the "Address" bar always displayed the base url address. Sadly, my new hosts don't have that option!

There's always a way to do it, surely. I think there's a way by making a frame, so that there are 2 html files being viewed, 1 can be a hidden dummy file (base URL) and the other can be controlled. Of course there'd probably have to be a little bit of code tweaking here and there.

eek ... frames ... *hate em*

I never use them, but if you're that desperate to get the base URL always showing....

Well Crashmat uses an iframe as the viewing window, so all you see in the address bar the whole time is www.crashmat.co.uk/home.htm and that could be shortened to remove the home.htm if I dispensed with Umbrella Guy on the main page. Never gonna do that tho ; )

I was just about to say to ask Stu because crashmat is pretty similar. Same concept though.
