Another year and yet another batch of unsuccessful graduate job applications and what does my mum say?
"Maybe you're aiming too high, maybe you should come back to the midlands"
Thanks there mum, only got a 2:1 and AAB at A-Level, I must be well stupid.
Oh and they won't help me pay for my rabies injection, I guess they want me to die, i'm such a disappointment to them compared to my brother (pub manager with one gcse) fucking does my head in, no wonder i left.

My eldest sister was head-hunted to run a gym the moment she finished a-levels, my other sister has a maths degree, both are happily married and have great lives. I'm at a crappy univeristy trying to get an art degree which will probably get me nowhere in the world. The first children always seem to do better.

Mine include crying in bed, feeling sorry for myself and then drinking myself into happiness.

I haven't cried since 1996. That can't be normal can it? The big things that I should cry at don't seem to affect me, but stupid things like when Buffy's mum died a few years ago give me a lump in the throat. Weird

Ha ha! Um, the film Homeward Bound when the cat and the young dog find their way back to the family, but the old dog, Shadow, doesn't seem to be with them. The boy gets all sad, but then, in true Hollywood style, Shadow appears on the horizon, limping. and all is well, and everyone is happy!

I've always thought my mum wasn't proud of me. She told me today she couldn't be prouder - which left me speechless. Maybe we should carry on doing the best we can in what we do, and not worry about how people view us quite so much.
