Lost my wallet, no insurance, truly fucked. Well I would have been except I have family in Perth I'm going back to. I kept back 60 quid for just in case and it's just enough. Fuck me this is close. I'm in Sydney now, flying to Perth tomorrow (where my family are) and hopefully nothing else will go wrong (because then I'll have to pawn my clothes). But yeah sometime during the evening on saturday night just gone my wallet went missing with all cards, driving license etc inside. gutted. Beware Fiji people! I've met someone in nearly every place I went to there who had something stolen. Especially in Nadi. Lots of fit girls though. yess siree And on that note, how is everyone?

how do people lose wallets ?! I'm forever checking I have mine when I'm out and if I go to a festival or gig or something, I usually take a wallet on a chain so I really can't lose it!
Unlucky though ... at least it wasn't your passport!

It was in some shorts I wear that have shallow pockets, and no chain. But I'd never lost it before so I wasn't overly checking anymore than usual. But yeah thankfully I had my passport locked up

Get yourself some insurance boy, touch wood nothing really bad has happened to you. That really sucks that you have had stuff stolen, but I guess they think travellers are easy targets, and as pete says at least it wasn't you passports and you can cancel cards and travellers cheques, when I go backpacking I keep all my hard currency in this belt which holds money you can get $1,000 in it, you're in Perth now so get yourself one of those! No money belt though? Beware Fiji people! I've met someone in nearly every place I went to there who had something stolen. Especially in Nadi. Lots of fit girls though. yess siree I will bear this in mind (not the girls!) I will have to employ my disgusting "trick" for the whole time I am there. And really they girls and boys are fit? The ones I have met from Fiji were on the whole pretty rank.

Ah well maybe they're just in my league then. I got more email addy's and stuff there than in any other country ;D
And you're right I should get some insurance. I'll do it tonight when I get to Perth. Promise. All my cards are getting re-issued now. 7 to 10 working days and then my folks can re-direct my post.

Least you have family in Perth which is good, maybe its fate, I know you were saying about wanting to go back there a lot.

Aye I was going to come back anyways and its a good job too. Don't fancy doing that post restante waiting for money thing.
Alls well now anyways, well until I ring the UK to find out my balance and someone's taken 600 quid or something...
