For about the fifth time in a month, somebody almost took my car off the road today through complete stupidity. Today's genius was parked by the side of a two-lane one way road in a right hand car-width parking bay. I was driving up in the right hand lane, bang on the 30mph limit and with my lights on. At about 50 yards his/her lights and left indicator came on, and I thought "oh, it'll be fine, they'll see me and pull out after". I slowed down anyway ready to take the right hand corner ahead to get to work. I get about 20 yards away and he/she pulls away and immediately turns left into my lane, by which point the bonnet of my car was level with the rear wheel of theirs. I swerved sharply left and blasted the horn, and looking in my mirror I see them pull back into the parking lane, presumably with brown trousers. Weren't they fucking looking? I consider myself a fairly proactive driver hence I slowed down when their indicator came on, but not in my wildest dreams did I think they'd pull out as I drew level. Anyway they were about the fourth or fifth such cretin since about a week before Christmas, all of such were in the mile and a half journey to work. I genuinely think people don't fucking look in their mirrors, and I really don't fancy a crunch even if their insurance covers it. I'm gonna go back to walking in I think. I stopped when the weather got worse but at least I won't get people trying to run me off the road all the time.

Some people are such idiots.
When i drove back up to Leeds last week i did the whole M1 part of the journey no problems at all, get into Leeds and this tosser decides the coach in front of him isn't going fast enough around a curve so cuts me up, speeds past the coach and then pulls back into the lane he was in with literally inches to spare while the coach driver was mid curve.
I really do think you should have to take some sort of moron test before you're allowed behind a wheel.
And don't get me started on people who only use thier rear view mirrors when reversing, or even worse, not bothering to check at all.

The roads are full of fucking fisting fuckers.
I hate them all and wish mild heart attacks on them.

I've been plagued by idiot drivers on almost all journeys over this time of year. It must be because people just aren't used to driving on motorways or just drive around their home towns and so panic whenever they go somewhere different. Still... what can you do other than be cautious and hoot your horn when they fuck up?! Sound like you did all you could ... save stopping and giving them a piece of your mind!

You should try riding a bicycle, you just wouldn't believe how inconsiderate car drivers are. They stop dead without warning, overtake you and then pull in right in front of you. I thought we were all supposed to be more environmentally friendly nowadays. Obviously not where i live.

Not quite the same topic but getting there....
Stupid morons in the Dunfermline Asda carpark today - I mean I can understand why it would be busy on Hogmannay but this was ridiculous - when trying to park your car you get all these moronic idiots dillydallying across where your reversing into the space - there was about 20 of them it took me ages to park - not only that but the idiot in the space next to mine was totally squint and didn't bother to fix it, so part of his car was in my space making it really hard to park - and I was parking while this fucker in his big merc was moving right up to me trying to pressure me - i think he was trying to intimidate me out of the space so he could take it, as all the other spaces were taken - unfortunuatly for him I'm a naturally assertive driver so instead i took pleasure in slowing the fucker down by reversing as slowly as possible! End of rant!!!

Good on you!
I dislike all the angry drivers out there. The ones who get right up your arse in the fast lane on the motorway. I gestured at one guy yesterday that he was a wanker for doing it and he slowed down for several miles to follow me dangerously and intimidate me back! I don't know what he thought he was going to do! I shouldn't have provoked him I guess but nevermind. I'm sick of them.

I thought we were all supposed to be more environmentally friendly nowadays. Obviously not where i live. I agree that a lot of car drivers aren't considerate of cyclists. However at this time of the year when it gets dark so early it amazes me how many cyclists don't have lights and/or aren't wearing bright or reflective clothing. It makes them SO hard to see in the dark, particularly on roads without street lighting. Have they got a death wish??

My Dad lives in an area where there are a lot of cyclists and so many don't signal when they want to turn and if they're going right they just cut right across you. They take no notice of red lights at major junctions. While i agree a lot of car drivers should be more considerate i think cyclists need to play their part too.
There was one last night when i went to mums, it was on a long and windy tree lined road with no street lighting so at night it's pitch black and there was this cyclist, the only reason i knew he was there was because of one little reflector on the back. No bright clothing, nothing.

I got cut up by three guys on bikes coming out from school not long ago, coming in the opposite direction on the wrong side of the road across the junction I was trying to negotiate. When I beeped my horn at them I got loads of abuse!
