Dear Sir/Madame,
I am writing to express my personal disgust at the complete lack of customer service I have recently recieved from one particular branch of Phones 4 you in Cheltenham on the main high street (details below). My problems have been fairly simple. I recently in November took out a contract with Orange on a Sony Ericsson W910i mobile phone which from the beginning has repeatedly frozen and had several software malfunctions. Early in December I revisited the store from which my phone was purchased and asked what could be done to fix it. At the time I could not access my text message inbox. I was then told to use the factory reset function of the handset which should have fixed the problem.
It did not. Several times since I have had to reset the handset in order for it to function normally. As of the 17th January the phone has ceased to function properly, without even recognising the SIM card.
On the 18th of January I visitd the branch in Cheltenham to again try to establish what could be done to rectify the problem. I was passed on in total to four different members of staff (I apologise I am unable to remember any of their names as I barely got to read a name badge before I was palmed off onto somebody else), who were of very little help whatsoever. As the phone is under warrantee they offered to send it off for repairs which, I was told, would take about a week. When I asked what I was supposed to do in the meantime I was told that they would not supply me with a phone while mine is getting repaired. I am apparently to go and spend yet more money on unlocking another phone to put my SIM into while my phone is away for repairs, or, just buy another phone. I have to ask at this point, for what have I been paying my money?
Just as I was about to leave, I was made aware that I could in fact be without a phone for up to twenty-one working days, and I should cancel my contract for one month to avoid being further out-of-pocket.
So now I have no phone, no way to tell anybody I have no phone, and have to spend more of my own time trying not to incur further costs by stopping my contract with Orange for a month. Great.
All in all I have had nothing but trouble from this product from your company. If I were free to I would cancel my contract and move my business elsewhere, which is what I shall do once my contract expires. Of course should any of my friends ask my advice on the subject, as they invariably will, I will be well informed on where they should not place their business.
Thankyou for taking the time to read this. I hope your other customers recieve a better service than I did. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact myself, on the landline, not mobile, listed at the top of the page.
