Gaaaaaahh.
Firstly, I'm ill. I don't get properly ill often, I tend to fight off colds fairly easily, but every so often one comes along that cripples me completely, just as the one I have at the moment has. I've had a cough for a while and then it went, but now it's come back again, along with general lethargy and a ridiculous temperature. I think it's some form of flu, because I'm also getting hot and cold flushes.
This has meant that I had to leave work early last night, and I won't be going in today either, so I've just had an almighty faff trying to call in sick. I didn't have the number to call in, so I had to search for one of my colleagues on facebook and message them to ask. In the meantime, I emailed my manager, but that was bounced back. I got the number, but the 3 network has been down for a couple of days now (more on that below) so I had to borrow one of my housemates' phones to call in and leave a message, which will hopefully get to my when he gets in.
So yes, 3. It's been down since about 11am yesterday (neither Katie nor I have had much of a signal or even a connection since then) which caused almighty problems trying to organise plans yesterday and has done the same today - haven't been able to get in contact with her, or work as you've seen above. Of course, being a phone company, which are some of the most pathetic around when it comes to customer service, there is absolutely nothing on their website giving any clues as to what's happening. I think the problem is localised to Newcastle and around here as from a few searches on the net I've found people complaining of similar.
You take things like mobile phones completely for granted until you realise just how bloody difficult everything becomes when something goes wrong and you can no longer use them.
