Not sure if this is the right thread as it's in regards to Discogs.. I came across a Chrysalis promo which I haven't seen before (and which isn't listed on the anorak), which includes instrumentals of Buck Rogers and JTWIF. Quite a nice item although both those instrumentals are available on other releases. www.discogs.com/Various-BBC-Euro-2004/release/6084948

Who on earth is paying such astronomical fees for these promos?!??! To be fair, with these promos you can never tell what their true value is going to be until after the event. One of the promo singles off the GN solo album (can't remember which song off hand) went for quite a high price and I thought to myself "huh, not paying that much for a promo", and in the end I recall regretting not buying when I had the chance, because I never saw it again! At least if you take the hit up-front and adopt early, it gives collectors the peace of mind, knowing the hunt is over, instead of waiting for cheaper copies which may or may not materialise in future. I mean, when was the last time anyone saw a copy of Side By Side for sale? Thing is, I remember people paying three figures for Two Colours or Best Days In The Sun and now you'd wince at paying over fifty quid for them. Value is a fickle thing! Basically, if people are happy with their purchases, and happy with the amount that they pay, I don't see why we should knock people for what they spend. Must admit, I have seriously considered buying one of the Eskimo promos myself, and I may even crack at some point. I could wait until it's cheaper, but by playing the game you run the risk of waiting too long. You pay your money, you take your choice.

Evening Bruce - I was watching that myself and was gonna drop a last minute bid in - II reckon its been given the Godfather Ebay Treatment - Someone has made the seller a offer they cant refuse and its been sold and sold "Offline" without incurring any fees, its a little naughty but it happens. Ive often seen something i want for my collection and made the seller offer - sometimes they politely decline, other times they accept. Cheers Alan

It was more simple in fact It wasn't a Feeder 7". So the seller has withdrawn the auction.

You sure? I asked the seller for the cat number that was etched onto the disc, to check it wasn't an I Am Kloot 7" and it was the right number?!
