girl in my last seminar... ok so i took all of your points on board, but why the attitude just because i raised other issues? OK so you've studied the Iliad and parts of the Odyssey before... great. I'm not a c*** just because I think Odysseus isn't a complete saint. It's a fucking book, chill out.

i'd like to say thanks to the bastard who has emptied my bank account and then put it £799 into the red. i got paid 10 days ago and in that time they've spent practically every penny i earnt last month and then even more money that i didn't have, putting me into an unauthorised overdraft! They've bought train tickets, booked 3 hotels and topped up their O2 mobile. And we're left with a bloody huge mess to sort out! you know the brand new car i got last month? the first payment went out today. guess what..........it bounced...'cos THAT BASTARD HAS SPENT ALL MY MONEY!!! how bloody great does that make us look?!
luckily the bank have been really helpful and will reimburse us every penny........but it'll take 5 days for it to go back into the account, so we now have to ring up all the places that are going to try and take their direct debits out and explain that they wont be able to for the next week. ARGH!

can this stupid omg-australia-is-so-racist business go away please
yeah, some people did a thoughtless tasteless skit and that clearly means it must unequivocally represent the views of twenty two million people, mmm logic!

man i hate working in the public sector at times.
councillers are going mad 'cos we're £2000 over budget. yep, that'll be 'cos we shut for 3 weeks, put self service machines in and you changed our photocopiers, trebling the hire cost in the process. go figure - and oh - YOUR descion not ours!
add to this some bint milking being off sick (with view to basically quitting) which would be semi fine expcet it leaves no staff at small library... which we have to cover which HAD been sorted by overtime for the saturday girl and part-timer. but go figure, freeze on spending = thats all been cancelled so now we have to send all our staff there instead and have very little staff here = offering a shite service to the public 'cos there's not enough of us to do the work needed.
not that they'll employ any more staff, oh no, as usual all our jobs are at risk.

The thing is, she's actually a nice person...but she can't be arsed to do a proper job. I feel that way about a number of the people I work with. I might just be getting old but all the sub 20-somethings seem to do is piss about and do the bare minimum. I'm sure I wasn't like that even in my first job when I was 16. I've always had the attitude that you may as well do a good job if you're going to do a job at all. Trouble with my current job is that when they evaluate people, they have three categories - "Excellent" (i.e. bonus time/earmarked for promotion), "Good" (i.e. will remain in the same position for the rest of time) and "Needs improvement" (i.e., "you're shit"). The two extremities probably only make up five percent each of people, which essentially means that if you just miss out on an "excellent", you're essentially no better in the eyes of the company than someone who narrowly avoided a "needs improvement". You need to stick your neck out a ridiculous amount to come away with a bonus, and when you don't get good feedback on how you're performing, it's demotivating and difficult to find that big extra in yourself to really aim for the "excellent" rating in the first place... And it's even more demotivating that the people who piss about the whole time still get the same "good" rating you do. They need more ratings and more distinct action for each one. Maybe staggared bonuses and staggared action for those not putting in the effort.

The thing is, i can't even blame it on her being young, since she's in her 40s, which was a bit awkward...she didn't particularly like someone 20 years younger than her coming in and taking her job. She made a few narky comments and i had to have a few sharp words with her. Anyway, she's gone now and i'm now finishing all the jobs she couldn't be bothered to finish and starting all the ones she should've had completed months ago.

Not impressed with the 4 tallest people in the world wandering through the crowd mid-gig and standing right in front of us. I could still manage to see but Lindsey couldn't. They guy behind us tapped one of them on the shoulder though and told him to let Lindsey in front so she could see...there are some gentlemen around

Let this be a warning to all ... DO NOT EVER USE LEEKES.CO.UK TO BUY STUFF!
I recently bought a PVR (Freeview box with an hard disk recorder in it) ... from this company, who are apparently a large chain of department stores with a website too.
The problems came when I made the order ... no communications, delays that I had to phone them to find out about, recorded delivery reference numbers that didn't exist on either of the carriers they use, no proper staff manning the helpdesk on Saturdays (even though it's advertised as being open and properly staffed at this time!) etc etc
I complained and got a 10% refund on my order price as compensation.
I had the box for about 6 weeks before it started developing faults. I sent it back for a full refund, as agreed with them via their Returns Procedure online.
They received the item on the 3rd November. My refund is so far nowhere to be seen. Several e-mails have been sent and they kept replying saying it was done and would appear in my account in a few days.
Still no sign today, so I called and they said "oh we did a refund on 3rd September" ... errr, NO, that was the partial refund! I am talking about a total refund because the item is now returned!!!
Jeez ... they're gonna process that today and then call me back, allegedly. We will see ...
But seriously folks ... stay well clear ... !!

I don't care how expensive your present for me is. I don't even want it if you're just going to keep going on about how much it costs and how of course I'm going to love it because it's sooooo expensive. I don't care.

My step brother can be a really insensitive little shit sometimes. He's had swine flu although the way he's whined on for the last 3 weeks you'd think his fucking leg was hanging off. Then he see's my Dad yesterday, knowing full well what's happened and:
Step-B: Oh are you not feeling to well Dad: Not brilliant, no. Step-B: I know how you feel Dad: ?! Step-B: Yeah i've been sooooo ill. Dad: Yeah....i mean you could have died and everything!
Then he starts whittering on to me about it. And given that i traipsed all the way to other side of Leeds for his Tamiflu AND did his weekly shop with NO thank yous or owt, i really couldn't give a shit about his glorified cold.
TWAT!

my tutor can't write. He slaps a seeming arbitrary mark on my portfolio with a few comments - none of which appear to be constructive though how the hell would I know as his writing looks like the doodles I make in his boring bloody seminars!

Sounds like my art teachers comments, always unconstructive, i'm like; ok so if you don't like what i've done tell me how to make it better, he just seems to state his own personal opinion and doesn't look at peoples art in diff. ways = BAD artist!
My main rant.; today walking through sutton town on a break with 2 of my mates, an old mate of mine is walking past, so i make an effort to say hi and she looks at me up and down, gives me the dirtiest look ever and then walks off without saying hi!! - erm what the hell have i done?? plain JEALOUSY, she hates the people in her new college course and i've found people who i really get on with and i have loads of mates, she can't blame me for not involving her in stuff 'cos i always spoke to her when i seen her and she's had house parties and not invited me to 1 of them, FINE you've lost a good friend!

Here's an example of a twatty flatmate:
I put some washing in on a regular wash before heading out for a Subway and say goodbye to a couple of friends who are going back to America. When I come back I see that he had actually changed the setting on the washing machine while I was out so that it was an economy wash instead of a normal wash. Later on, after he had put his own stuff in I see he had used a regular wash instead of economy. I left it be. It's one thing doing something behind my back but then being a hypocrite...

i take your twatty flatmate and raise you:
Six of us share a flat at the moment, and we've had the same issue for four months now. Three of us have to get up at 7-8am on Tuesday mornings, so Monday night is usually a quiet one. Not so for two of the others. They got drunk in the flat, said they were going out before midnight, didn't, eventually left at 3am after waking the rest of us up, being ridiculously loud and obnoxious (more so than is reasonable), let somebody from upstairs in to our flat who refused to leave after they had, who then tried to throttle one of my flatmates when he continually asked him to leave and threw him in to my door and tried to hit him repeatedly until me and the other one staying in literally picked him up and threw him out of the flat. The guy he did it to is the most tolerant of the lot, but he's a med student and this was four am on a tuesday morning. This directly follows another guy who doesn't live with us but got let in punching a friend from the flat below us in our kitchen.
I don't think it's being unreasonable to assume a little bit of quiet on a Monday night. We don't ask them not to go out, just that if they do they at least try to be quiet, and that they don't make too much noise in the corridor. We've asked them so many times 'cause we've always had early starts on tuesdays and it never sinks in!
Had to help one of the drunk ones in to bed at 5am too as he had no recollection of where he was.
