Ah okay no worries, yeah that black box thing was what I thought you were hinting at and I think it's way too far in the direction of being watched the whole time. If I had the money, I'd defo change my car for a much more fuel efficient one. Ditto. I firmly believe it's possible to get a car that's fun *and* fuel efficient. If I had the money I'd get a 2nd hand Honda Insight (http://chamonix.as.utexas.edu/HTML/jpg/cars/honda/insight.jpg) which is one of the best at the moment, now discontinued. I'm keeping an eye on it mainly because I want to get into automotive journalism and having an eye and an interest in future technologies will help no end in a sector of the industry which will eventually have to move towards it in a much greater way.

Does 80 to the gallon though I admit is isn't the nicest looking thing but you can't fault the technology.

What car do you drive Marc? That isn't my actual car but I wouldn't mind running one. My 98 1.3 Fiesta can get 47mpg which is pretty good going

my Focus is currently doing about 30mpg... due to my heavy right foot I did a week of normal driving (no ragging the tits off it) and got about 49mpg (ish) out of it... out of a 1.6l Petrol that's not too bad

Quite nice? It's like sex! There are too many synonyms for Rover which could be applied to sex I can barely contain myself

speaking of petrol, despite the BP garage being the closest one to me, I've now got a fear / dislike of supermarket petrol after the Tesco fuel that basically permanently damaged my engine Had the Lambda Probes replaced at the time, but ever since, I've had issues with a warning light coming on a lot on the dash. It's the one that highlights if there is an inbalance in the engine / exhaust regards Oxygen / Fuel balance. It's now on permanently and I'm just ignoring it because it's been to the garage so many times for them to fix it and the problem always returns. *sigh* So ... to give that ramble some relevance to this thread ... even if supermarket petrol is cheaper, I wouldn't buy it in preference for a bigger brand name.

I'd add to that there always seems to be a massive queue for petrol at the two Tesco's near me - and depending on how much money your time is worth - you end up saving more money in "man-hours" by just going to a more expensive garage and getting in and out quick.
