Basically I'm just plugging myself here (I hate having to do this) for you to give my music a listen... it's all demo's i.e. incomplete lyrics/music/effects/mastering blah blah - you get the idea. Consider that I'm 17 yrs old and I play the keyboard, and these are songs that I've put together by myself and am quite proud of. Imagine how every Feeder song you've heard was put together on a basic keyboard with the same (virtual) guitar sound and then recorded on a dictaphone. They wouldn't sound so pretty! What I need ideally is to brush up on my (real) guitar playing skills, form a band and record my songs properly... I feel that I have a lot more to give which is why I've held off making this thread for so long--but better late than never I suppose. www.myspace.com/lewisaquilinaedit: uploaded in full my original 10 track demo album 'Believe'. If you dig CIS, I think you'll appreciate what I tried doing here--bearing in mind I did this between ages 15-17. It's tough getting feedback on the internet though...

I didn't used to like plugging my band but I got by by thinking it's for the benefit of whoever might listen, and now I'm probably just used to it. But, yeah, it is a bonus when anyone likes what you've done, as long as you enjoy what you're doing is all that matters methinks. I was just listening to some old Manic Street Preachers rehearsal recordings so I'm primed for the low-quality... It is difficult to judge with that keyboard sound, but it sounds like there are decent songs in there. After a listen to them all I think I like track 2 the best, where the low-quality echoey effect seems to add atmosphere. Bring it Together is a very Feeder-y title. Keep it up deowde, perhaps join another band as a keyboard player to get some experience if you can't get a band together in the short-term?

Definately hearing the Feeder influence! I agree though, try and get in a band, and if not try saving up for some studio time...near where I live you can get a few hours for quite cheap, and it's good for experience in producing and stuff. Also, if you haven't already, get a mac Seriously though, there is definate potential there, like it.

Liking it!! Sounds great But yeah - keep this going and also get in a band - shared ideas could make you even better And may I also take this opportunity to plug my band? www.myspace.com/blackcloudsandsilverliningsAny opinions welcome I'm only the guitarist, by the way - it's the drummer that writes the songs, not me

Wow thanks for the responses. It means a lot to me! I didn't used to like plugging my band but I got by by thinking it's for the benefit of whoever might listen, and now I'm probably just used to it. But, yeah, it is a bonus when anyone likes what you've done, as long as you enjoy what you're doing is all that matters methinks. Yeah, I just wish I had a band to plug though! I feel very small and insignificant being just one guy playing a keyboard... ideally I need to move on from my keyboard and relearn how to play everything I've written to be played on guitar. I'd like to be front man of a 3 (or 4) piece band, get a bassist and drummer, Feeder styley and hey-ho. Virtual drumming on a keyboard (or finger-drumming as it's known as) is not cool (and I did a bit of it in A Day to Remember)! Actually it's called Bring Myself Together. Just pure coincidence of the name similarity, I wrote this song about 3 years ago, way before I discovered Feeder properly. It was actually influenced a lot by FAM. By track 2 being your fave do you mean A Day to Remember? If so I agree! I think it's got a bit of a my perfect day vibe going on. I've written more lyrics for it since the recording I put up. Actually I was recently accepted to go on a sound engineering/music tech course at a local recording studio for 2 yrs come september and that'll basically teach me how to use music production software like cubase and pro tools and all the interesting techy stuff like mixing consoles, the best mics etc. Really can't wait for the course to start to be honest!! As for mac's, well I've never really used one before although they do have a mac suite I'll eventually have to familiarise myself with at the recording studio. Liking it!! Sounds great But yeah - keep this going and also get in a band - shared ideas could make you even better Thanks for the feedback. It's nice to know when someone else likes what I'm doing... see, my mother thought I sucked at keyboard, my dad doesn't even like music full-stop, my sister listens to Rihanna and other crap associated with it - think N-Dubz, and my two younger brothers hardly appreciated what I play... all I've had to pull me through really was great bands like Feeder and the thought of how I want to be like that one day... Plug away! I can't listen to your stuff right now but I'll probably check it out tomorrow if I can get online.

cheers mate and trust me i won't ever stop doing music. just gave your stuff a listen, some pretty funky stuff you've got there! i could only check out the first 4 songs and i liked hiding behind the lights the most. if i'm gonna be honest though, i think the vocals need to be stronger, they need more of an edge. i just dropped you a friend request btw.
i finally got round to making a compilation of some of my other demo recordings (thanks audacity!). just uploaded it on myspace if you wanna listen, though the sound quality will most likely suck at 128kbps due to the myspace size limit... tell me what you think! if you like it i might make a part 2 with my other recordings.

thanks a lot for the feedback! at the moment we don't have our actual singer on any of the recordings - it's just our drummer (who annoyingly plays every instrument ever created very well), but we're going to do some proper recording sometime this summer - i'll let you know when it happens! and i can't listen to your new stuff now, but i will definitely give it a listen tomorrow

Time to bump an old thread! I recently set up a new blog with (a lot) more of my song demo's - *edited out* I figured it's better to share my music than keep it all to myself so here it is, hope y'all like some of it. And hopefully I'll have a studio version of "Intervention" (the song on myspace) up in the next month or so and it'll be with real guitars this time! Lyrics are finished, I have a drummer who said he'll record with me, just need a bassist which should be easy enough.

hey just listened to all the music posted here, hearing some really good stuff, Little Hollywood im likeling your stuff alot, think ive found a new band, which i love descovering!! Lewis, keep at it, hearing some good stuff but i think it needs a full band, drums and bass. You'll be supprised how much drums and bass bring out such a fuller sound, if that makes sense lol. the rest of the band links didnt work for me any way, would you mind checking out my band please? www.myspace.com/furious_animationDance Jimmy Dance is our 'fan favourite' so i hope you like it! hope you dont mind me giving the link out and as Gravity Equivalent Baconberg says 'if someone else likes it then all the better' were all friends here, hopfully, so i hope you dont mind me plugging

I like Dance Jimmy Dance. It's not as good as Dance Keith, Dance by The Cakes though. MySpace crashes when I try and listen to the other tracks...

May I take this opportunity to plug my new band? We've been together for 3 months and still need a drummer, but we've written quite a few songs and have a slot on my friend's radio show this Saturday from 4-5.30 on www.phoenixfm.co.uk/ if anyone's interested We've also done a few acoustic recordings and put them on Youtube here www.youtube.com/user/OneStopRailwayMusicAll feedback is welcome

Ok, heard all your stuff, Song of Storms and am quite impressed. I really like the solo in Dance Jimmy Dance. One thing I'd suggest is to clean up your myspace page a little and remove those hideous comments with the rap music on auto-play. Anyway, here's a video I recently made of my old keyboard piece 'Beautiful Ruin', made using some pictures on my computer hard drive. To download the audio: www.mediafire.com/?mmzmjzzydtz. Blog description: "I did this instrumental piece about a year ago now and pretty much made it up as I went along. I just shut my eyes, put my hands to my keyboard and came out with this. So download it, listen to it while you're lying awake at night, and let it take you on a magical journey! In all honesty, I'm dead proud of this piece. It's possibly the best I ever made on my keyboard... I think it is somewhat inspired by the Final Fantasy games, particularly FFX which is my favourite." Go to the YouTube page to read the full video description, and while you're at it please subscribe to me! I plan on making and adding more videos to my account eventually. I'll post my blog link with an intro REAL soon, it's almost ready.

I didn't know where to post this, this seemed like the most appropriate thread a song from a band called 'On the Spot'. The front man is a mutual friend ;D
