So when you guys are ready for the Generation Freakshow Survivor, you just shout! I shall act upon it, and within minutes we're off! The songs are still new to me, but I have a fair idea which I like most. No idea if this goes for you, too. Heck, some of you might not even have heard the album! Some of you might have heard it a little. Some of you might have heard it so much, their ears start bleeding when they hear it once more, but I doubt it. Still possible though. But I digress. Anyway, all I wanted to say is that I'm at your service, if you feel ready for the Generation Freakshow Survivor. If not, that's ok with me . But please, don't keep me waiting for too long. Patience is not one of my strong characteristics. That, and I'm dying with excitement . I reckon we should wait until the campaign has finished, and then do it and then the era tracks straight after. And then the ultimate survivor! Is that too long to wait?

Why do people get so bent out of shape when someone voices dislike for a song/album? When a band you like releases material you don't like, the reaction is that much stronger precisely because you like the band in the first place! I don't visit any other band forums to post likes/dislikes or anything else, because Feeder are the only band I'm invested enough in to actually make the effort! Everyone should keep in mind that we're all here because we like Feeder. If you're lucky enough to love every single track they've ever committed to record that's great for you, but it's perfectly reasonable for other less fortunate fans to discuss their dislikes in these forums. If someone dislikes a song you like, don't take it as a personal attack, and please don't question their credentials as a 'proper' fan! Sigh. Very well said! i couldn't agree more! I love Feeder and have done for many years. Yet there are a few of their songs that i really dont like, some of them i can honestly say i hate. I'm not afraid to state my opinion, i'm not a kiss arse fan who's going to say i like everything they've ever done, 'cos i don't and i honestly can't see how anyone could truly say that they do! If me saying i dislike this album makes some people think i dont deserve to call myself a true fan then maybe i should give them a bit of background info. And yes this is going to look like i'm showing off! I was asked to be a regional co-ordinator for the official street team, (there were a few of us covering our local areas and we weren't paid for it, we happily did it 'cos we love the band). I covered Northants and Leicester and drove miles, using my own time and petrol to drop off promotional items to members of my local teams who would then distribute it where they lived, I have stood out in the cold handing out flyers, I have visited shops and asked (sometimes begged) them to put up posters advertising the latest Feeder release at that time, i have travelled to London and rode the tube sticking Feeder stickers here there and everywhere to promote a release, I have walked round car parks putting flyers under windscreen wipers (and got told off for it on a couple of occasions!) I have sat in the offices of both Riot Management and Echo and met with members of the record label and management teams back in the day. I used to organise birthday presents for the band members and spent hours shopping for gifts that members of the old board would club together for and I've received personal emails from Taka, Dean and Mark thanking me. So if anyone really wants to question someones dedication to this band simply because they might not like a few songs then go ahead, question, but don't just assume they're a rubbish fan and insult them by insinuating it. Its probably best to know a bit about a person before personally slating them. i imagine everyone can guess who this is aimed at.

What a show-off. You shouldn't feel bad about not liking the album! I think sometimes people who are closer to something are more likely to feel let down by that something, whatever it is, if they feel it's not as it should be, so that could help explain how you feel... My Feeder let down phase was Pushing the Senses and Silent Cry, and while the Silent Cry gigs I went to were good, the PtS gigs were a bit flat too. I never stopped loving Feeder and with the last two albums they're right back on form as far as I'm concerned, and reinstated as one of my favourite bands of the present, not just the past.

There is no doubt how much of a fan Jude is of the band, that is beyond question completely but has always been a good representative for Feeder and the fans. Ps, i absolutely hated Renegades...im a bad fan bad fan bad fan but as ive said before, GF has restored my faith

So now the honeymoon period for the new album is over and the dust is settlingm anyone finding themselves skipping any songs? I'm finding myself skipping Sunrise fairly often, just can't get it as much as the others. Also In All Honesty gets a skip every now and then because the kazoo noises at the start annoy me sometimes.
Other then that, I listen to it in it's entirety every time. A sign that it's a very good album!

I occasionally skip Borders, because it isn't that new as the other songs. The album is pretty excellent, although the shift (from melodic to rocky) from the first to second half annoys me a bit , which means that sometimes I only listen from Oh My to Quiet/Sunrise or from Generation Freakshow to Skylife... There isn't a single track on it that I don't like, though. Individually, all of them are good if not great. But not all of them blend in with the rest of the songs. In All Honesty is an amazing track, but sounds a bit B-sidey to me and Tiny Minds sounds like a song taken off Renegades (which is the case, of course). These are just minor flaws on an otherwise great album glowing with excellence...

Was listening with my iTunes on shuffle today and after playing Quiet, it played this: Never Ending White Lights - Say Hi For Me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEZSw8ldFXU Take a listen! I thought I'd magically acquired some rare version of the song for a moment! Not only are the intros almost identical but the opening lyrics are very similar too!

I really don't like the transition from Miles Away to COTS, but both songs are absolutely brilliant!

Personally I think In All Honesty and Fools Can't Sleep let the record down a touch, there's nothing actually wrong with them but I just don't think they fit very well on the album. As some else has said Arms would have gone better.
I'd also say I'm not a big fan of COTS but I may be on my own in that opinion. I can't get into Tiny Minds or Quiet (starts well though) and have gone off Sunrise a bit... The rest though... are fantastic.
I have Oh My, Borders, Idaho, Hey Johnny, Generation Freakshow and Headstrong on constant repeat. I did get a bit tired of Borders through over play but now I'm back into it.
I can't think of a Feeder album with six songs I've rated so highly since Echo Park.
They also make an excellent playlist mixed in with some of the Old Skool classics. I do a lot of running and that playlist is really powering me along!

I always skip Borders, I listened the heck out of it before the album came out! I get the impression that I'd *love* Tiny Minds if I hadn't listened to it thousands of times after pre-ordering. If I can ever look at it from a non-biased viewpoint I tend to realise how ace it is. If only the solo was longer...

Seems to be awefully quiet here these days... a little too quiet. So, I'm thinking of starting our Generation Freakshow survivor. Only question: shall I include Side by side and Miles away? I think I should, but if anyone can name a valid reason why I shouldn't, he/she knows what to do
