Seems to be awefully quiet here these days... a little too quiet. So, I'm thinking of starting our Generation Freakshow survivor. Only question: shall I include Side by side and Miles away? I think I should, but if anyone can name a valid reason why I shouldn't, he/she knows what to do yes ... do it ... and yes, include both of those ... are you going to include "No Light" (even though quite a lot of people won't have heard it!) ?

Shouldn't Side by Side and No light be in the B Sides survivor as neither were on the (UK) album? I suppose Miles Away could be in either as was on the Itunes album.

It would be difficult to vote on tracks that I do not have and therefore have not heard. I say stick to the album proper as in the past.

All right... Since No Light has not featured on any album, I think I'm going to include it in the B-side survivor. Even though I haven't heard it. The problem however is No Light's, it doesn't have a chance to win!
As for Side by Side... it did feature on the Japanense version of the album, but if you want me to include it in the B-sides section, that's fine with me.

I think we've always included bonus tracks as B-Sides rather then the album proper, like 'Yeah Yeah' & 'Every Minute' on Silent Cry.

The problem however is No Light's, it doesn't have a chance to win! The way the voting works it could win, vote for your least favourite. If we don't know we can't vote for it.

Good thinking! But were I (in my head) to replace No Light for [silence], because I don't know it, it would still be less good than, for example, Find a place.

I feel I have given GF enough listens to decide my favourites from the album, and I feel I need to share on just how awesome this album is Imh, the middle tracks (tracks 7 to 10) are not up to the standard of the other tracks (by no means am I saying they're not good, just not as good as the rest), thankfully though, they are all together and not scattered about. Then moving up the brilliance scale slightly is Miles Away, and quite a way ahead of that is Sunrise, Fools Can't Sleep, Idaho and Borders, then up the scale a bit more, on it's own in between great and amazing is Hey Johnny, I absolutely love that song but it can't compete with the remaining three. For second I can't choose between Oh My and Children Of The Sun, two amazing tracks, Oh My the perfect opener, and Children Of The Sun a perfect closer for the album. But oh my, what a song Quiet is, right up there with there best, it's just such a beautiful song that brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it I think GF is just so much better than Renegades, which had 3 great tracks (White Lines, Renegades and Fallen), whereas Generation Freakshow has many more. I think it will take a few years for it to be cemented in the Feeder catalogue, but I think it's already settling in much quicker than Renegades did, but it has along way to go to be as amazing as their earlier classic albums (it's still damn good though ) (edited for some quite awful grammar fails XD)
