yeah, being a big motorsport fan Richard Burns death was bad news, he was my rallying hero! all the tributes to him were excellent, he will certainly be remembered! the Richard Burns tirbute issue of Autosport is the only one i've kept. I was upset when the co driver michael park died, i knew him personally as hes from around our area

Steve Irwin died. The Aussie crocodile man. Aged 44. Stung through the heart by a stingray.

That's really sad , he was the best over exuberant zoo owner I've ever seen.

Ditto, he was crazy but he was doing it all for good reason.
He was a true legend (even though a little annoying at times, we've all sat and watched in amazement at his courage).

I'm not surprised. He pushed his luck right out there. Shame

It sucks, he wrestled with so many dangerous animals, then he gets killed by one of the calmest... RIP STEVE IRWIN!

It said only one other person in Australia has died of this kind of thing and that was in 1945. Sorry if that was said in a previous page.
This is so sad and uexpected. RIP xx

i wouldnt go on and on about him being lucky for so long, because at the end of the day the guy knew what he was doing.......
for any average joe it would have been risky but the fact Steve knew so much about these animals, i wouldnt say he pushed his luck.

Totally agree....he was a pro and knew what he was doing....and he loved his job, it was his own decision if he knew he was in too much danger he wouldnt of done it. His death was well unexpected though....

another Australian died yesterday, Peter Brock, an australian motorsport legend died yesterday in a Rally accident. He was (like Steve Irwin) a legend in Australia and a real icon Like Steve, at least he died doing what he loved! au.news.yahoo.com/060908/23/10ghw.htmlI really wouldn't want to be an Australian Icon right now! 2 in a week gone for them!
