Ferrari will be Alonso & Massa... Raikonnen is in talks with Mercedes, although according to ITV they're trying to persuade Michael Schumacher to complete his return to F1 and partner Rosberg in an all-German team.
Looking forward to seeing the Hamilton and Button partnership next season - although I think it will probably be tough for Jenson. He's a good driver, but I don't think he's quite in Hamilton's league.

I couldn't remember if it was Massa or Raikonnen at Ferrari with Alonso And yeah - never know though, Button's experience might shine through eventually next year. He's proved he can do it, so there's nothing to stop him doing it again

He's proved he can do it, so there's nothing to stop him doing it again Yeah, I agree, but he's just put himself in a no-win situation. He's going to be expected to compete with Hamilton because he's the existing World Champion - but Hamilton has been groomed for McLaren for over a decade - it's his team, his set-up, his people, and Button's going to be under huge pressure from the moment the season starts to perform at a similar level. Hopefully it will all work out OK for them both - I can't wait for the new season now (providing Silverstone gets the go ahead) - would love to see the two drivers dominate and both end up within a couple of points of the World Championship going into the final race of the season. That would be awesome.

Button has said he's gone to McLaren for the challenge of facing up to Hamilton so kudos for doing that. I don't know much about the technical side of things but a lot will depend on whether McLaren can set up their cars for two completely different driving styles. On the flip-side Button is a smoother driver than Hamilton so might be able to look after his tyres better now that refuelling has been banned. It should be interesting anyhow...
As for Raikkonen, there's still a chance he'll be in F1 next season.

Also a chance Schumacher will be in F1 next season, if you believe the papers!

Silverstone tickets have gone on sale and are selling out fast : www.itv-f1.com/news_article.aspx?id=47522Best get in quick if you want a ticket then. Other news bits: Kimi Raikkonen has switched to WRC, but Sebastien Leob is still hopeful of an F1 seat with 'Team USF1'. Manor Racing has been renamed Virgin Racing after a big money deal with Richard Branson.

Potential new scoring system (from the BBC):
The new proposal would see the winner take 25 points, 20 for second place, 15 for coming third and then 10, eight, six, five, three, two and one points.
I think there should be a bigger gap between 1st and 2nd than 2 points but otherwise am fine how it is, though I suppose with the reliability of cars these days it would be good to see some points for 10th.

It does make things much more interesting. I think he should be outpacing Rosberg more often than not after a few races, so if the car is good he should do well.

Nice to see Schumacher fail to keep up with even his own team-mate in qualifying today. Smug-German git!
Also; gotta love those yellow and green Lotus cars

I think they look great! I was actually surprised at how well Schumacher managed to do, to be honest - not been racing properly in F1 for 3 years (I think) and still managed to qualify 7th - even if I don't like him, I do think he's a brilliant driver.

I think 7th for him is a bit of a dissapointment after all his pre-season talk about wanting to win the title and the amount of testing and winter track time under his belt in the GP2 car.
Hoping for a strong race from Hamilton and Button tomorrow. I think the Red Bulls and Ferrari's will probably dominate, but I'd absolutely love to see a McLaren 1 & 2

I'd also love to see a McLaren 1 2 - I honestly have no idea what tactics anyone's going to use tomorrow, with the new refuelling ban - hoping it's not going to make it boring!

It's all about tyres now. Can't discount Rubens charging up through the field on the better tyres whilst all the front runners struggle on those super-softs in the first stint.

It wasn't a great advert for F1.
I think the circuit itself has a lot to answer for - too long with a long and dull middle sector and few overtaking opportunities.
The re-fuelling ban doesn't help either, with all cars the running at a similar pace at all points during the race.

Yeah they definitely need to life the re-fuelling ban as soon as possible - it's just completely taken away one of the more interesting dimensions of the race. Also agree with you on the circuit - there just aren't any overtaking opportunities apart from the first corner. I think they should drop this race next year - I'm sure most of the drivers aren't particularly fond of it either. I do like the new scoring system, though - with a bigger gap between 1st and 2nd it should hopefully encourage them to go for it a bit more and we might end up with some racing for 1st place.

Very dull circuit, pointless middle sector apart from the double left hander. Hopefully better tracks will improve the racing
