Seriously? Bad Hair Day, Oxidise, This Town, Bring It Home, Redemption, Bring It Together, Heads Held High, Pain On Pain, Choke...I could go on. Doesn't mean they are any less of a band, the good to bad songs ratio is massively in their favour! It's a matter of opinion/music taste, and of course opinions are not the objective truth. For example, you hate Choke, I love it. Doesn't mean anyone is wrong, we're bot "right" in a way... Indeed, twas my original point . I also never listen to albums on shuffle. As it's been said I don't see the point, albums are put in order for a reason. Sometimes I make playlist for how I think an album should have been though, for example I might be in the mood to listen to Pushing The Senses but add in Shatter, Victoria and Murmur for other ones .

I know Pushing The Senses got some stick for not being 'rock' enough, but as far as I remember Silent Cry was loved by (most) fans. I think it was massively underrated which is a real shame.

I'm listening to Silent Cry right now, it's such a shame that it basically sank with Echo, with the right promotion behind it, it could have continued the momentum of 'The Singles' and PTS
EDIT: Who's The Enemy as the title track to the last Bond movie would have helped too!

I would say that Silent Cry is their most underrated album, the title track is one of their best songs, along with We Are The People, Fires, Heads Held High, 8.18, and, well, all the others really (I love the artwork as well, not just for the album, but the singles as well) It's Feeder doing what they do best, making heart wrenching songs, but with being amazingly beautiful and so catchy at the same time ( with a few rocky ones in there of course) It didn't deserve to fail the way it did in comparison with their other albums

Agreed, my thoughts exactly, call this a fan site!?. You'd never see this on a Peterborough United forum everytime they lose!. Haha! You think this is place is bad? You should visit the Queen, Ash or Manics forums! Basically forums bring out the extremes ... everyone here loves the band and has their own ideas on what makes them great! But that'll lead to arguments clearly ... It's one of the problems with music ... everyone's interpretation is different which is why no band can please all fans alike. I've always been of the opinion that the band can do what they like. I treat each album as a separate era in their history. Sure I compare and there are eras I like more, for various reasons, but each has their own merits. There isn't one I don't like, which is good for me. Yes, they could do things better ... in several areas (release formats & strategy, tour set list variations, promo tools) but hey, that's just my opinion!

Why do people get so bent out of shape when someone voices dislike for a song/album? When a band you like releases material you don't like, the reaction is that much stronger precisely because you like the band in the first place! I don't visit any other band forums to post likes/dislikes or anything else, because Feeder are the only band I'm invested enough in to actually make the effort!
Everyone should keep in mind that we're all here because we like Feeder. If you're lucky enough to love every single track they've ever committed to record that's great for you, but it's perfectly reasonable for other less fortunate fans to discuss their dislikes in these forums. If someone dislikes a song you like, don't take it as a personal attack, and please don't question their credentials as a 'proper' fan!
Sigh.

Yes, but if I have any negative thoughts about a band, I keep it well off their forum.
Too true Pete, that is why I keep off other bands forums and only bother with this one.

On that note, I don't like Can't Dance To Disco. ;D

If nobody voiced their dislikes this forum would be a very boring place.
The Ash forum is all right, but they're complete nobheads when it comes to peoples opinion. There's one mod who will rip your head off if you say a word against Idlewild. Plus on a 'other bands you like' thread, I came across this:

Well, actually you can't say that Grant is not used to repeating some lines in his lyrics, but these guys should know that this doesn't mean that the same line is repeated in every song. I think they should read the lyrics to "Swim", "Undivided", "Yesterday went too soon", "Moonshine" and so on, they would probably shut the fuck up.

i found both silent cry and renegades incredibly boring at first, have literally listened to them through maybe three or four times each since they came out... i've finally got them back on and have slapped meself for being such an idiot. renegades is a belter, and helping me bash out the dissertation!
i haven't really heard any of the recent songs, everything seems to have slipped past me, but i'm looking forward to it now!

I know we can all interpret songs in different ways but does anyone else think 'Hey Johnny' is about Jon Lee?

I know we can all interpret songs in different ways but does anyone else think 'Hey Johnny' is about Jon Lee? I definitely do. The lyrics can be interpreted in many different ways, but I think that in this particular case it's just not possible. "Why was he the first to go? Johnny didn't seem right, someone should have let us know." He would be proud if he could listen to that song.

Although as I've interpreted it to be about Jon it's a really emotional song lyrically. If Grant gets asked the question in the media he may deny it though. I've heard in interviews that he kind of invents people & stories to come up with a song. Borders being one example. It may just be that 'Johnny' is just another fictional character.

I didn't realise the first few listens but then it kinda hit me & I thought this song has to be about Jon.
