The thing is though ... my main annoyance is that it's one thing after another ... there doesn't seem to be a consistent, long term, release strategy for the campaign. I can honestly cope with singles having exclusive tracks. That's fine ... but album wise, it should be more well thought out. I would not have pre-ordered the album from Recordstore had I known this was going to happen. I don't really need 2 identical copies of the album! I agree Pete. They seem to be making things up as they go along. I mean first 'Generation Freakshow' was the next single then they go for 'Children Of The Sun' with no explanation on why GF was shelved. Now they want us to pre-order the album AGAIN just to get a b-side track. =/ The GF single was never confirmed though, was it?

Maybe I imagined it. They were reporting on the Radio (Kerrang! I think) that GF was the next single & as we know Promos were sent out.

Oof. They're consistently finding new ways to irritate and alienate dedicated fans!

No Light reminds me quite a bit of Seven Sleepers, for anyone who hasn't heard it and wants any kind of assessment...

See, I'm annoyed because I've pre-ordered the signed copy through Recordstore which has already been paid for. I've also pre-ordered through iTunes which I've no problem with.
Now, I live near Portsmouth and will be there this weekend so will be going direct to the box office to avoid the additional fees. But obviously no way of me getting the bonus track from them. With any other gigs I'm doing, tickets are being purchased as a bulk order which I'm not doing so I miss out completely.
I don't and won't order another copy of the album because I don't want or need a third copy. I don't want to have to worry about trying to get a refund from Recordstore so looks like I'll miss out on this one.
They need to work out their strategy and stick with it. They can't keep changing it all the time meaning that people have to pre-order additional copies or cancel other pre-orders because they will otherwise miss out on a bonus track or other incentive.
Oh well, that's my rant over for now. Not happy about it but I'll live with it.

If there's a test pressing out there with 'Generation Freakshow' and 'No Light' as the B-side, then what's to stop Freakshow being the third single and No Light the B-side to the third single?
All Feeder albums have at least three singles during the campaign.
Just because 'No Light' is presently "previously unreleased", it doesn't mean that it's going to stay unreleased forever.
A few years ago, I would've bitten the bullet and ordered the CD again, as well as a gig ticket I'm never gonna use, all for the sake of getting a single Feeder track.
Nowadays, I'm not so sure - especially when there's the very real prospect of it being released further down the line anyway.

I'm still not entirely sure why everyone seems to have pre-ordered the iTunes version of the album. The wording suggests to me that, whilst Miles Away is an iTunes exclusive, it's not a pre-order incentive.

Either way, it's listed as "album only" which generally means you can't buy tracks individually ... no?
I'll be further annoyed if, once the album is out, that it becomes a track that you can buy on it's own.

I don't know enough about iTunes, I'm afraid - I try to avoid it unless it's absolutely required. If that's the case, that'll be copy #3 for me then! I'll wait 'til launch and see what happens on that one, I think. Found a buyer for my non-signed pre-order, so all is right in the world again. Feel sorry for all the fans that'll be lumbered with loads of copies, though.

Probably it's just a sort of strategy to increase the sales, although it will only affect the real fans who care about extra tracks, and this is not really right.
Buying the album AGAIN would be good for me for the same reason reported by Pete (unsigned items being probably rarer than signed ones these days), but I can't buy another ticket.
I'm coming to the UK to see them in April, and I have neither enough money nor enough time to come again in November, it's not quite next door for me. Of course I could easily buy the tickets and the album to get the extra track and then sell them back, but that would be fairly difficult, because no one here in my country would be interested, and no one of you would ever buy something from me when you can easily get yourself a copy of the album and tickets from some other guy living in the UK, so it would just be pointless.
I hope the song becomes available sometime in the future, I can't miss out on the only Feeder track beginning with "N"! (But, again, this would be a big reason to feel ripped off by those who bought another copy of the album and tickets to get the same track!)

This is somewhat akin to the "pre order bonus" debacle that's happening in the games industry at the moment. Individual retailers get special bonuses to offer customers, to entice them to buy from them. It's a *VERY* dangerous road to start down.
Games: Costumes/in-game items Albums: Full songs
Dangerous precedent to set.

Does anyone remember before the release of Red Hot Chilli Peppers 'Stadium Arcadium', the band wanted to make an individual collection of songs for each different retailer?
Similar thing happened with the last Kaiser Chiefs album, but you got to pick your own collection of 10 form 20 (I think) songs.

The whole campaign seems like a shambles, which is disappointing. The album should just be coming out round about now, with a single following up borders and striking while the iron was hot I suppose. Ive gotten bored and resorted to listening to the new songs on youtube to fill the gap, and there is some really good stuff on the album, nevermind Borders feels absolutely ancient now.
All this preorder this/get that exclusive/unreleased track/tour tickets nonsense is just a big middle finger to fans, though i doubt G+T really mean this but c'mon, if they want their music to get out there, then stop all this pissing about. And releasing tracks on cassettes, i suppose its a nice bit of nostalgia but really, I hate to say it about a band I kinda grew up with and really devoted to, but everything about this campaign sucks, except the music which is spot on as ever.
Heres looking forward to the next campaign already.

In fact it's quite simple! If you want 12 new songs, buy one album If you want 13 songs, buy 2 albums If you want 14 songs, buy 3 albums !

i haven't pre-ordered yet, probably wont bother. i can't see that i'll get anything out of it. i can't afford/probably wont be in the country for the tour dates anyway, and i have no interest in signed merch. maybe get the jap album for the extra tracks? hohumm i dunno.

Agree 100% - I think the lack of a new single now + album delay might hurt sales. Borders had a bit of momentum behind it, but that's now been lost.

maybe get the jap album for the extra tracks? hohumm i dunno. you'll be disappointed then, because, apparently, the Japanese version has 3 extra tracks, one being Side By Side and the other 2 being cover versions of tracks from the album, by 2 Japanese bands! You certainly won't get the Borders b-sides or the UK iTunes bonus track or this Gig ticket bonus track!

I guess if anything probably just the standard release, but additional tracks tend to appear on other artists pages, after a cut or so.
