I can't believe you all seem to love silent cry now??? Its feeders low point.. Its a rehash of comfort in sound and pushing the senses but without the passion of death or new beginnings. The lyrics are terrible and there's no texture to the album, all the songs sound the same..... lifeless. It was still better than most albums of 2008 tho lol Renegades wasn't there best album but it was about being a rock band again. Although it misses the the feeder melody and seems to try a little hard with call out and riding on the bus. But its back to being a 3 piece rock band without mark wanting to change the dynamics. Generation Freakshow is much more natural and happier. Has the album leaked yet btw? In your opinion. I loved 'Silent Cry' when it came out & I still love it now.

The lyrics are terrible and there's no texture to the album, all the songs sound the same..... lifeless. It was still better than most albums of 2008 tho lol Um, no. It's not a 'rehash'- it is a progression, both musically and lyrically. No recurring lyrical themes we hear again and again in Feeder songs, and some truly refreshing musical moments- Sonorous for instance probably the most adventurous Feeder song ever. Also whilst 'passion of death' is a pretty horrible phrase, there are references to it all over- Silent Cry's 'Its silent without you' for instance, or Sonorous which is basically about Jon (seems to be anyway although it's open to interpretation). It also has the little interludes along the way which make it Feeder's most complete album to date. Sure it doesn't have many big pop hits like Buck Rogers or Borders but from the first track to the last it feels like a complete entity rather then a collection of songs, to me anyway. I got the point of Renegades and the project was very exciting when it all started. But releasing the album under the name 'Feeder' was a mistake in my opinion, as it detracted from the whole purpose of the project. In my opinion anyway. Also where did you hear Mark wanted to change the dynamics of the band? Never heard that one before, just that he wanted to play live with Skunk again, and he and Grant never really got on that well creatively. You have 4 days to wait, come on....

Just got my Japanese version of GF, and I must say it is quite bizarre to listen to the Japanese version of Idaho and its shifts between English and Japanese:p and also Generation Freakshow with a different main vocal, but they are both quite good:P It's weird but..I almost prefer the Japanese versions lol:p

4 days... I'm so jealous because I probably have to wait for another whole week because that's the time it takes for a package from the UK to travel all the way to the Netherlands. Technology allows us to make a phone call to someone on the other side of the world, but hasn't succeeded in getting them packages quicker to my place... priorities.... C'mon, it's not as if it's that far away

I expected the 2nd one to have japanese vocals as well but obviously it doesn't. I'm sure in the first track he says Idamo for some of it and Idaho as well? haha. Still both good versions, great album

"Silent Cry" was no "rehash" of two albums, so what if it was?!, I liked those.
I thought it was a slick album that produced the best ever gig I've seen. Never thought I'd come across someone who don't like the album, shocking.
It's just opinions anyway. Got my Japanese "Generation Freakshow" today, well nice package.
Can't you wait four days?!, christ on a bike.

Pete, you couldn't send me a link to the Japan versions could you? I struggle to find them, I don't understand the symbols Go to www.hmv.co.jp/en/That converts all the Japanese on the site to English. Beware of postage, vat and import duty if you order too much in one go! CD Japan send out plain looking packets with no advertising on them , gift is then ticked on the customs sheet

'Passion of Death', that phrase disgusted me.

I think it's "Skylife", a listing on eBay called it that a few weeks ago.

Just because nobody's died, or that there isn't a new beginning, doesn't mean the album can't be good? Similarly just because Renegades was about being a rock band again shouldn't affect whether or not the album sounds good. Just my thoughts.

I didnt say the album wasnt good. But in my opinion its quite boring. Its the only feeder album that I've not played for over 2 years. Unlike each album, feeder generally surprise me with new twists and sounds each album (there never the same) They should have had some1 else produce the album to Polish it off and bring new ideas.
Further more "passion of death" was not meant to be offensive. But grant capitalized on his feelings and made a great album out of it. SC just felt he had ran out of ideas and had writers block.
The dynamics.... Its grants band and he is the only songwriter. Mark wanted to have more creativity and be a joint songwriter.
And no it hasn't leaked. There are promo copies but non online.

Again, your opinion ... but in my opinion, tracks like WTE and Sonorous showed more vision and ideas than many of their previous tracks. You can't write songs like that with writers block. Whilst I think Mark wanted to be more involved in the creative process in the studio, that wasn't the reason he left. Feeder and Mark parted company because of Mark wanting to do Skunk as well as Feeder and G felt that wouldn't work. Also, they were never the best of friends, so a fresh start for both was felt the right thing to do ... The full album was posted at least twice on YouTube ... this is the leak I was referring to. However, both sources were taken down quite quickly ... I have not and will never look for torrents or whatever of unreleased material ... it's wrong and is harming the music industry in more ways than you can imagine.

CD Japan send out plain looking packets with no advertising on them , gift is then ticked on the customs sheet Then they are committing fraud! Also, just because something is listed as a gift, if it's over a certain value or just if Customs feel like it, they can open your parcel and assess it for duty etc.

Indeed, it even says on the label "May be opened officially".
On the subject of "Renegades", it is to me not a Feeder album, but a Rengades self-titled album. Because all of those songs were at first performed live and played to the public for the first time (bar "Sentimental", but soon ended up on the first EP) as Rengades songs, then the album came out and ended up as Feeder songs, which took away the whole idea of the project like [Ghost] said.
Another reason is the one I said previous; it feels more like a stop-gap or "Bridge that gap" album between what is offically the 8th and 6th Feeder albums. To me, this is the 7th.

Really? I'm not gonna lie, having spent lots of money on tours and merchandise I don't feel bad for looking for a leak, but I wasn't able to find one? Would you mind PMing me and telling me where? don't bother with any torrents/filestube links... i haven't tried to download any but i'm suspicious of any torrent which involves a .rar file. unnecessary passworded bs, potentially harmful. i really should update my address info on the websites i use! my pre-order is being shipped to the wrong side of the bloody country, now i'll have to wait till mid may before i can pick it up! whoops :/
