So, the Japanese "cover" versions ... is it just me or is it basically all of the instrumentation and backing vocals by Feeder and replacement lead vocals by a Japanese artist, who sings in Japanese / English on "Idaho" and English only on "Generation Freakshow" ? Seems like quite an odd concept to me ... I was expecting complete cover versions. Mind you, at least with the Japanese album, you get an isolated version of "Children Of The Sun" as TBTTSNBN (the bonus track that shall not be named ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ) is tacked on the end of "Side By Side" instead.

I think those 'Covers' are dreadful to be honest. If it was a proper version done musically then it maybe different. It's just rehashed vocals. Should be called 'Karaoke version'

Just popped into my local Tesco's to buy the new Dragon Tattoo BD, and sadly Freakshow was nowhere to be seen. Now, I know Tesco's chart is a law unto itself at times, but I distinctly remember Renegades being available on day of release in the top 20 on the Tesco chart. In small towns like mine (and with the sad demise of Woolworths and Zavvi), the supermarkets are the only way to buy CDs in a proper shop. It's sad if Tesco aren't stocking this, as the album demands to be listened to by as wide an audience as possible. If there's no visibility, people might not even know this is out yet! With supermarkets you may have to wait 2-3 days before new releases come about, I had the same problem before

Ok I love the album, its an easy to listen to, clever, well made steady rock album and every track is solid...
...but (like a lot of Silent Cry) it lacks a certain spark. I haven't been compelled to jump up and down and sing along...
...maybe I need to listen to it more whilst not trying to write an essay...
I do really like Fools Can't Sleep though, it's different.

Quiet might redeem itself on future listens and the chorus is still beautiful, but I thought the pace changes were a little too harsh - they seem to come from nowhere. I think they suit the song really well!

I really like the album; much better than Renegades and a real return to form. My favourites are Hey Johnny, Idaho, Quiet and Children of the Sun. Love the bonus acoustic song; reminds me of swim. The only track I don't like is Headstrong; to me it's just generic indie rock and lacking the magic that usually make Feeder stand out from the crowd. In my version of the album I deleted it and replaced it with Side By Side. Now it's a pleasure to listen to from start to finish.

Really like Miles Away, it reminds me of songs like Redemption / Broken but materialises into much more!

In my version of the album I deleted it and replaced it with Side By Side. Now it's a pleasure to listen to from start to finish. I'm sorry, but I really don't understand or like when people do this, especially when they've only just heard the song for the first time. Music is an art form, and in my opinion you shouldn't rip a song out of a record and delete it forever just because you don't instantly appreciate it. I read on Last.fm that someone thought Godzilla 'ruined the atmosphere' of Comfort in Sound just because it's a loud expression of angst amongst quiet reflection. I mean.... what?! You think an album paying tribute to a dear late friend has to be purely acoustic tenderness? Albums can (and often the best ones are) be diverse in expressing a single philosophy, message, or emotion. Art shouldn't be censored, and in a way, this is like a mild individual way of doing that. People always have tracks that they don't instantly get on with or understand - which is totally fine! Fair enough, you know? Everyone does this, and understandably so - I don't like every song from every artist I like, Feeder no exception, but more often than not and with repeated attempts over a long period of time to try and understand a song, I eventually come to appreciate it at least in some way. And if not, then I certainly won't erase it, shunning it from my knowledge forever and pretending it doesn't exist; I'll just ignore it and listen to it much less than that which I do enjoy, therefore keeping the album complete as the artist intended it, even if I do disagree with that specific part. I'm sorry, rant over, and I'm not having a go at you mate ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) , it's just this particularly annoys me.

So, ummm, where's this trumpet in 'In All Honesty'? I was wondering the same thing! Think if you listen carefully, you can hear it under the intro riff when it's played throughout the song.

I appreciate your point but I'm not pretending it doesn't exist! I added it to the Borders single where I think it fits perfect and I will listen to it there. Feeder have done many b sides which I think should have been on an album; undivided should have been on Polythene for example and Feel It Again on Comfort in Sound. So this also works in reverse. Some songs for me are perfect b sides, Arms is one of them and I think so is Headstrong. I love Side By Side and it feels adrift just on it's own as a single release. The album flows so much better for me with it instead of Headstrong. But we can have our cake and eat it. Everytime I listen to the Borders single I listen to Headstrong so maybe I will get to like it in time.

The ones on the Jan/Feb dates were sooooo thin!!!

Good to see on Spotify there's an option to get the MP3's of Along the Avenues and Coast to Coast.

I loved the tour tees - I like the thin material! The cut is excellent, too. I almost never wear any of my old Feeder (and other band) tees because I hate the sack-like material they used to be made with.
