In my version of the album I deleted it and replaced it with Side By Side. Now it's a pleasure to listen to from start to finish. I'm sorry, but I really don't understand or like when people do this, especially when they've only just heard the song for the first time. Music is an art form, and in my opinion you shouldn't rip a song out of a record and delete it forever just because you don't instantly appreciate it. I read on Last.fm that someone thought Godzilla 'ruined the atmosphere' of Comfort in Sound just because it's a loud expression of angst amongst quiet reflection. I mean.... what?! You think an album paying tribute to a dear late friend has to be purely acoustic tenderness? Albums can (and often the best ones are) be diverse in expressing a single philosophy, message, or emotion. Art shouldn't be censored, and in a way, this is like a mild individual way of doing that. People always have tracks that they don't instantly get on with or understand - which is totally fine! Fair enough, you know? Everyone does this, and understandably so - I don't like every song from every artist I like, Feeder no exception, but more often than not and with repeated attempts over a long period of time to try and understand a song, I eventually come to appreciate it at least in some way. I'm sorry, rant over, and I'm not having a go at you mate ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) , it's just this particularly annoys me. Like it or not, once the album has been disseminated publicly, it's down to us, the listeners, to choose how we listen to the music we purchase. The artists' original intention is no concern of mine - It's what I get from the experience as a consumer that really counts. It's like when I always skip 'Fitter Happier' when listening to OK Computer by Radiohead. I think it's really pointless, upsets the flow of the album, and no, I don't really care what Radiohead's thought process was when they included it on the CD - nor do I care. I don't like it, and because the CD is my own personal property, I can bloody well skip it if I so choose! So there. [/belligerent mode] ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Good to see on Spotify there's an option to get the MP3's of Along the Avenues and Coast to Coast. I've installed Spotify to check this out. Whilst I can find both tracks in the results of a search, I can't click on them ... or rather, if I click on the track, nothing happens. Maybe because I am just using the free version of Spotify ? I'd really like proper versions of these tracks ...

Can you listen to any of the other tracks on the album? Occassionally they keep new albums off the free version for a while.

I'm using the free version too and I can play them! I think it takes a while for them to appear in peoples spotify lists. Generation Freakshow wasnt available to me yesterday but it was to some people

I installed spotify about an hour ago with a free account and was able to download them. I assume you wouldn't be prepared to trade them for No Light or whatever the ticket/album bundle track was?

Along the Avenues sounds really low quality when I play it on Spotify (no download link, so can't download and see) - think my poor vinyl rip is actually better somehow!
EDIT - Updated Spotify and both now appear as Generation Freakshow album tracks. Can't vouch for Along the Avenues, but Coast to Coast is sounding much better than my rip.

I've downloaded them both (they are in 320kbps) and sound great! Better than the rips I had.
Along The Avenues is now right up there as one of the best songs of the Era

Yeah, just updated Spotify and both now appear as Generation Freakshow album tracks. Can't vouch for Along the Avenues, but Coast to Coast is sounding much better than my rip.
Weird that updating the software is necessary to update their library?

Ok, now I see them and yes, they're part of the Generation Freakshow album on there. How does Spotify work ... were they put their by Big Teeth or are they up there because someone had them as local files and they've uploaded them?
*genuinely clueless about Spotify*

It would have to be someone at Big Teeth, Spotify isn't a peer-to-peer service.

So, a question then ... I see that Spotify has found all my iTunes files ... I take it no-one but me can see / hear those ?

Yeah, that's just Spotify trying to make itself your default music player.

Believe that's the case, yeah. I think even if you share a playlist with someone, they'll just see the playlist without those tracks. Which is a pain, as I tried to share a playlist I made (basically We Are Scientists' setlist from a live show in London) with my girlfriend. Her favourite track isn't on Spotify, but obviously was in my library and thus my playlist... she couldn't even see it to play it.

Anyway... I've made the purchase, and it was a good one.
As has been pointed out - tracks are 320kbps and sound excellent. Just need to re-tag them =P.

Ahh it's nice to hear Along the Avenues in perfect MP3 format.

Incidentally, I can confirm why AtA sounded as pap as my rip on Spotify before:
Go to settings, and under Local Files, 'Downloads' is included by default - it WAS my rip! Oh, the shame...
